Nothing in all of human experience is so beautiful and rapturous as a moment of epiphany. Today I was rereading a book that has greatly influenced my philosophy, and for the first time, I finally fucking got what it was talking about. In a single moment of realization I was freed from time and mind by realizing that they are one and the same. Every...

That's true. The way you percieve yourself does influence the way you percieve other people.
fringes:
All it boils down to is making a sincere effort to percieve the world from 'that' other persons standpoint! But to do that you must literally become' ONE'.[You have to DELVE deeper than you have been!]
So I was reading Jeffrey B. Russell's A History of Witchcraft and I began to realize how we've basically moved into another era of witch trials, except now we are calling them "terrorists".

The work there wasn't that great?
Good luck with the app.
Would love to see the blue hair. Purple is nifty too but not if you don't think so
I used to study about the Inquisitions too. Partly b/c of my path. Did a report on it in 7th grade. LOL. My memory for history bites. Mine and world. Can be as interested as anyone else and details fall through my head. My one failing...history. May be b/c many things of history is tailored to those who read it, not the actual event. Sucko.
Anyhow, some of the concepts I still have (and helped by my current reading as well) is not quite to what
mtlqueen said, as some of it may be pushed by "God's will"...but mostly greediness of their own. Can you think what property and money they would have aquired by getting rid of those "witches"?

HaHaHa That is so true. I'll have to remember that analogy.
I had a whole other profound post typed out earlier, but I accidentally hit something and flushed it all down the cyber-toilet. I was rather pissed, so in the midst of the computer lab I told the computer to go fuck itself and walked to the store to get batteries for my cd player. On this walk, I stumble across some even more profundity.
I...

Tonight the old feelings are kicking me really hard. Just recently I have decided that I am tired of trying to build this awesome identity that will be good enough for whoever I decide to irrationally fall in love with. But tonight there is this unrest inside of me, as if I am afraid of wasting my life, afraid of growing to be an unproductive...

as if I am afraid of wasting my life, afraid of growing to be an unproductive waste of chemical reactions.
That is my worst fear ever, growing old only to realize that my life has been a complete waste. I think about that everyday.

I just finished a watching Eternal Sunshine again. That movie shakes me to the core everytime I see it. When I watch stuff like that, the spirit of truth in it is so strong that it destroys all the falsities that I've built up around me to keep me safe from feeling any fucking thing. Nothing false can stand up for long in the face...

Hey guy your intensity will prove your demise if dont turn it down a notch or two! Your analysis of 'Truth' is spot on ! Its a pitty so many of us live a lie! Its nothing more than a game of deception. But who are they decieving ,but themselves! Love is real! Its called mutual respect!
I should be reading Emerson right now, but I've decided after reading "The American Scholar" that he is mostly confused and full of shit. This makes it difficult for me to buzz through 35 pages like a drone in a hive while he talks about how great nature is over and over and over. Yeah Emerson, I think nature is fucking great too, but I...

Those are some interesting points you made about the classical and rock music thing, I never thought of it like that.

Today I watched a video from PBS about how the first known democracy began in Athens...I'm not entirely sure if I put a whole lot of trust in history, seeing as how we have absolutely no idea whether or not any of it actually happened the way people say it did, but it was fucking inspiring. The part I liked most was the unprecedented uprising...

May I always be free from the past
May I never be a slave to the future
May I always act as if I will die at any moment
May every moment bring me realization
May every experience awaken me
May I always live as a benevolent amnesiac
May the self that my mind has made forever die
May the truth of who I am...

Really? I only wait for super savings shipping...most of the time I receive my stuff in about four days, but one of the books doesn't get released till the 28th, thus a later shipping date b/c they don't want to spend more money on multiple shippings when I'm not gonna pay for them to do it. It's just that before they'd sent it in multiple shippings when I hadn't paid...got thrown off this time, but I understand it.
Umm, there are places to complain about stuff like paying for a 2-day arrival and not getting it for weeks afterward.

And I'm wide awake. I gave up on sleeping about an hour ago, when I finally got up, walked to the gas station, and got some coffee. Everything is peaceful at 4 in the morning. Even the most intense party-goers are usually knocked out at this point. All was tranquility. There is something really empowering about walking around when the rest of the world is...

I have to work at 5 am quite often, which means that I'm out and about around 4:45. I agree, the world is so quiet during that time, even in the busy neighborhood where I work. There's something about the brisk morning air, the stillness, and all the empty surrounding businesses that make me feel like the only person alive at that hour. It's early, but refreshing, and it's kinda cool to watch the rest of the neigborhood wake up gradually.
Thanks for the comment, it was comforting. I'm glad someone thinks I'm doing alright

Today I kissed a leper on the mouth and caught enlightenment. Today I was born into villainy, and realized the evil that paragons of virtue present. Today I dropped the baggage that I was carrying around, the baggage that I thought was going to make me immortal. The quest for immortality, which just about everyone pursues whether they know it or not, is a memory...

This is my third year in college, and I'm probably only half-way through when you consider the double-major and the education minor. I spent the last couple of hours fantasizing about being in a car crash before I became compelled to start reading Fight Club again, and this is when I discovered the sum of what I have learned after over $60k and three years...

I'm starting to find that fantasy no longer sustains me like it once did. I can't live off of daydreams anymore, unless I can see through to the reality that is often hidden behind them. I was talking to a group of three girls the other night, two of which I have romantically pursued in the past. The more I listened to them the more...

Well, The first two are a bit less serious and more humorous, but you have to be fond of that dry sarcastic wit that few have. I enjoy it, so I found her first two books pretty funny...then the series gets more dark, intimate, serious...therefore less funny overall...but I it did not change my view of the series... love it. Perhaps her humor just doesn't suit you...or her writing style. Who knows? It might have been your mood. Lots of things factor into the enjoyment. Still, sorry you didn't find it so appealing.
This is going to sound very silly, as my outlook isn't very bright at this time, but I hope things start looking a bit less depressing for you.
