We are closed on weekends so we technically get Easter off, but for X-mas if it falls on a weekend then we either get the Friday or the Monday off, but not for Easter. Oh well.

LOL - yup - forget how exactly how the virtual canadian GF thing started but since it was a geeky thing to do and I'm a geeky kinda guy it seemed like a natural fit .

Grandparents tend to not care all that much - I think they figure they earned the right to be obnoxious. Of course, some of them are just plain oblivious or NEVER cared - I guess they're not all that different from most other people aside from being your or my or SOMEone's grandparents . I still remember my very religous grandmom trying to get me to stand close to the TV so whichever faith healer's power would come thru the TV and fix whatever was wrong with me (man, that was like 35 years ago - didn't bother me at all, huh? )

I'm kinda like that... not really shy, but not very talkative in the real world. I do fine in one-on-one situations but put me in a group and I tend to sit back and listen to the conversation.

i used to have a problem with that too....i think im just meant to be alone most of the time, and ive grown to like it. i do miss some of the people who are no longer in my life though. particularly one guy who was the best male friend i ever had. i dont know why we stopped talking.

Mostly it's just that I had too much of a temper when I was younger, and then never started once I mellowed out.

It's just one of those things that is, not so much is good or is bad. I might try it some day if the situation were right, but part of that would have to be enough big friends around to restrain me if I lost my temper and went after someone for whatever reason.

Also an alcoholic father and stepfather does wonders for saying no thanks

Strangely enough I don't drink, and neither does the friend I'm doing out with so those beers will have to sit there by themselves in silent undrunk tribute. Well she drinks occasionally. I drink never, or as close to never as it gets, you know single shot to toast someone at a bachelor party or a glass of wine for a toast at a wedding, but I've never actually been drunk.

And nope, not wearing green today.

The whole relationship thing is too evil, it amazes me what people do to each other.

You're probably dreaming about doing research because that's what you've been doing a lot of lately. Every now and then I dream about my job AND I HATE MY JOB.

But I can relate about not being able to sleep at night. I have to force myself to sleep just so I can be somewhat awake for work in the morning. I've tried to change my sleeping habits for years with no success... and you're right, the lying there thinking just drives you crazy.
