This resonates with me because I recently decided to schedule time with a therapist to address some problems that clearly needed addressing. Any of my friends would tell you if you asked that I’m notorious for being stubborn, of “handling things”. While that was the case most of the time, some things happened to make it impossible to cope. I drank like a fish; I hid from things or patently avoided it. Eventually, things came apart at the seems, and I decided then that either I got help, or it was going to end badly. I’m working on looking for a new workplace so I can leave the current one, I’m doing weekly appointments, and I’m, hopefully, on the road to the beginning stages of healing. Thanks for telling your story.
