An interesting couple of days, some good and bad happenings. My mistake from the end of last week was repeated again, which really isn't good. I'm such a fucking weakwilled moron. I've slowly been growing in awareness over the past couple of days that I'm the one in control of my life. That sounds like such a simple and obvious statement to make but to...

Sick of my apathetic lifestyle, and have decided to get some dynamism in my life. Towards that end I actually managed to put down an entire wad of CDs I picked up in HMV today, which is something of an achievement for me. I swear I have some weird addictive disorder when it comes to buying music. I guess when you get over 1,000 albums...

No fireworks in the face... so no worries... although, I was crouched behind the bonfire taking photos of rockets and one of my brothers threw a "used" firework on the fire. To my excitement (and shock) it started exploding out wards... luckily in the exact opposite direction to me
I know how you feel on the paranoia... you should go to the doctors to have it checked out and just make sure...
Have fun in the Studio next week personally, I LOVE being in the studio... although, not quite as much as on stage

The last few days have been extremely tired and kind of weird. Did something I promised myself I wouldn't do anymore, which has made me feel shit and unsettled. Been getting very nostaligic and melancholy about York, which has made me a bit more determined to get myself in gear with finding a higher paid job. Hmmm. This should possibly be a longer entry, but...

In response to your music message board comment: Godflesh..Helmet.. hated? .. not on this side of the pond!
Bonfire night came and went for me without any significant event, mainly because I was working all night. Saw some purty fireworks from the pub though, especially while emptying shards of broken glass from one bin to another in the darkened car park. I love my glamorous job.

i haven't listened to ATR in quite some time... thank you for inspiring me to do so.
hey at least your halloween sound more entertaining than mine. i spent the night with my lights out ignoring obnoxious trick-or-treaters. i really have not been getting into the spirit much lately.
new pic is good. 15 points. (note: in case you haven't realized, i really have no system for my points. i just give them out as i see fit. )

And so Samhaine rolls it's merry way out again. Or Halloween. Whatever. I read an interesting section in some crappy British tabloid the other day condemning Halloween as a foul American practice, trick and treating etc etc. It was somewhat ironic that the article assumed trick or treating to be synonymous with Halloween while of course condemning those youthful hooligans who did the same thing....

Did the support gig with Apartment 26 last night. It was a lot of fun and we played well, although it wasn't anywhere near as important a gig as we thought it would be. Apartment 26 have changed a lot since their first album, now sounding like a vaguely annoying Incubus/Lostprophets hybrid. The industrial sound is more or less completely gone, and they were annoying...

"requested that no-one else use the dressing room" - that does sound a bit rockstarish, doesn't matter how big a band is there's no need to be arsy. I'm sure you blew them off stage dude

"rock stars" do truly lick nuts sometimes.
i wonder if it occurs to some people that you can still be a musician without having to be an elitist ass.
nice job on rocking the house.

Well my 'weekend' of Thursday and Friday has come and gone and I'm faced with the long trudge of a week back to when I can go out, dance around like a fool and so forth. My routine is so unbelievably dull. I wish I didn't complain so much, and I wish I had the dynamism within me to sort some of this out. I...

Dude, sounds like you got off lightly. I've rather stupidly let two female friends co-erce me into going to their Halloween house party in drag. Argh, what have I let myself in for?!
Anyways, have a good 'un - oh yeah, just realised as well, your gig's tonight, innit? Seeing as you'll probably be reading this afterwards, hope it went well mate.

Pretty much all of the ailments seem to have passed overnight. Peculiar but by no means unwelcome. I celebrated this (and today being my day off) by going to see The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Despite my fears it was quite enjoyable, although bearing only a slight resemblance to the comic by Alan Moore. After From Hell I had abandoned all hope of his work...

Ok, so. Current list of ailments:
1. Still recovering from flu, so sinuses clogged and head woozy.
2. Kidney infection, albeit one that is in remission.
3. Eye infection - painful and irritating.
4. Some kind of random obscure pain on the left side of my stomach. My dad suggests this is a hernia. Great.

in your case: homesick and regular sick
my case: mental health and sociopathic rage.
Keep on rockin'

I'm really missing York at the moment. Student life really did suit me quite well, not in the whole stereotypical drinking and casual shagging kind of way (neither of them really being my 'thing') but I definately fit into the debutante slacker mould. I don't mind working, it means I have less money worries and more to do with my time. What I miss more...

Hey, cheers for the comment. Yeah, that sounds like a pretty cool Halloween. Actually, thinking about it, I did take my girlfriend at the time to see Therapy? at Stoke Sugarmill on Halloween a couple of years back which has to be one of the best nights out ever. They started up "He's Not That Kind Of Girl" (still one of my favourite songs of theirs) with the jazzy bit and Andy Cairns annoucing "It is All Hallows' Eve people and Satan is hovering over this house! SO CLICK YOUR FINGERS FOR SATAN!!" Pure class.

Argh I cannot remember the name of the restaurant Even tried ringing one of the guys I was working with at the time to see if he could remember but no joy.
I last ate there about 4 - 5 years ago so it may not even exist anymore. It was about 100m down a fairly plain looking street and had two floors, one of which was a basement.
Sorry mate

The flu has now moved onto the annoying cough stage. This sometimes lasts for weeks so I'm sure everyone around me is gonna be having a great, non-irritating time. Some good news for once, my band has been offered a support slot (just one gig, mind - not a tour, unfortunately) with Apartment 26. For those not in the know, they're the industrial metal band...

Silly.
And don't worry about complaining!
I wish I were moving to Leeds.
