Wow, I just discovered you're not friends with 666Irish. You guys both have the same first sentence in your blogs right now. surreal

Well, I finally emptied out 2/3 of my bank account and bought all of the necessary parts to put my car back together. I hope it all works out as planned.
perlpunk:
Good luck man. post some photos
dark_cabal:
Hope it works out for you.

Either a very large supersonic jet just passed over my house, or I just heard the most intense rolling thunder I've ever heard. There's a light rain outside, but no visible lightning. surreal

Yep. I totally did that as a kid. Taking stuff apart, not fixing an EEG.

I'm seeing a lot of trails today and wondering if they're not chemtrails. *eck...cough*

It is confirmed. My baby shat an apex seal on the front rotor. frown I'm not giving up on her just yet though. I have another complete engine that came out of one of my parts cars. I'm pretty sure that engine also lost an apex seal, given that I bought the whole car for $200, but between the 2 blown engines and all my other...

After living up in the mountains for a few years they have become totally dead thanks to major rust issues. The told me 1.5 years ago that they needed urgent replacement. whatever They lasted 70,000 so it was a decent run... but thanks for the heads up. smile

I think my car might be dead. frown I need to do a compression test before I can say for sure, but I don't have a tester and right now I'm stranded at home. If she is dead, I got 60k miles out of a hack job engine I put together in my dad's garage. Not too bad of a run.

Anyone have an old beater...

Ask perlpunk. He's an excellent source of cheap cars.

Going to the Rainbow Gathering for a 4 day weekend. smile I expect this to be pretty much the most interesting and unique experience of my life so far. I've been trying to prepare, but there's only so much I can do. I'm pretty much preparing for a general car-camping trip but once I get there I expect all of my plans and expectations will be...

Just found out what the hospital bill is for all my testing.

I don't even have a tenth of that. frown Time to start bitching people out and possibly find a lawyer.

I ended up calling out one of my bills for a "surgical assistant" that my insurance had denied a claim for. After cross checking with (I won't name them, but their initials are Cigna), turns out it is covered in my plan and they will refund the bill. Only 400 of the 50k but it's something considering my out of pocket hasn't exceeded 3000 for the entire operation. It takes work man, but question everything.
madscience:
I take it you don't have medicaid/medicare? frown

As part of my benefits package at work, I get a whole slew of free or reduced charge legal services. If the hospital and insurance company try to screw me over, they better beware. biggrin

I think you may have more trivia shirts than I do. I just counted them all and only have about a dozen.
