Finally heard from my mom! All my family except my brother are in Kentucky, and they all lost power in the ice storm down there. Cell phone service wasn't working either, so since last Monday evening, I haven't been able to reach my mom or find out where she was or anything. Scary.

Luckily, all my cousins live near my mother and her next door...

I am seeing record snow in the UK. It seems to have been a crazy few years for 'firsts and worsts'. Good to hear that the family are coming through it all. And I have absolutely nothing to say with regards to your last paragraph smile smile

Hi All,
Fishii has prints of some of her photos up for sale, and I just wanted to pass along to all of you they are WONDERFUL!!! We ordered three, and the larger photo is definitely worth Fishii's modest $15 each price. The smaller pics you see online here are lovely, of course, but--honestly---they do not do the prints justice. The larger photo prints show...

No, like most kittens her eyes went to green.
My daughter A. named her 'Sisu', which in Finnish means
'very stubborn'/'courage in the face of overwhelming odds'.
She likes to do the Halloween cat [ arched back erect tail ] dance
down the hall. biggrin
After losing too many to the road over the years, they are now indoors.
They'll meow at the door, but when the blast of cold air hits they
''Run Away''. Four- Nelix @ 11, Amy & Zoe @ 10, Sisu @ 7months.
All are from the same barn so related, are Maine Coon, the other 3
are Gray with white lockett.

Fishii is all that you say she is. Another reason to love SG. Come to think of it, that also applies to luky.

Yes, we are still alive in the Neo/Luky household. Thanks to all who sent well-wishes and to Fishii especially for telling folks we were both under the weather.
Neo's weak, but upright, after days in bed. Flu or something. Me, I just have a chronic sinus infection that goes away, then comes back and kicks me around really good. FINALLY have some antibiotics, so maybe...

Glad you two are on the mend. It looks like everyone is getting sick. Hope you get to 100% quickly.

Ha. I had so many comment on my accent. Like I told Fishii, if you want to know what my Kentucky drawl sounds like, think Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs. Clarice isn't from Kentucky (West Virginia, I think), but I had a ton of friends calling me when that movie first came out telling me they thought of me the first time Jodie...

Thanks hun. With a little luck, all of this sicky shit will be gone by next month. I don't think I know anyone wisn't getting some random form of creeping death lately blackeyed

How are you feeling today? I posted some upbeat news for a change. I know not to get too excited because I still have a long way to go. It does feel good to feel good for a change. Hope that makes sense.

You played a big part in the way I feel. I want to make sure you know that.

Just got back in town from visiting my mom and other family in Kentucky. My Southern accent is so strong right now, Neo can't understand what I'm saying. smile

Got to catch up soon with several of you--which I'll do soon. Boss is still at our house visiting. He changed his train until Wed., which is cool because I didn't get to spend much time with...

This is a poem I get a kick out of! By Kim Addizonio--a well-published poet contemporary poet.

What Do Women Want?

By Kim Addonizio

I want a red dress.
I want it flimsy and cheap,
I want it too tight, I want to wear it
until someone tears it off me.
I want it sleeveless and backless,
this dress, so no one has to guess...

I don't know if I did the right thing by posting my latest blog. I was thinking of conveying my thoughts in the form of a pm to a few select friends, one of which would have been you. I decided to express myself publicly so that I wouldn't be a burden to any one individual.

I hope you had a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year! The hoodie went over well, she liked it and I think she liked that I didn't just get her a gift certificate. How have you been?

Well, I had a lovely Christmas day with Neo. He gave me a gorgeous handmade copper necklace, done by a local artist we both like, and a bracelet made by a metalsmith friend of ours who passed away this past summer. It was one of the last bracelets our friend made before he died. Very lacy and feminine silver and copper--and even more special having...

So sorry that your Meds kicked your ass.
The Gezeer Norm is to wake up wishing that there was
a `Nite Before` to justify feeling this bad. `Nite Before` are now
murder. surreal
I hope that New Years treats ya better.
X-mas was good here minimal stress, lots of good food.
Daughter was thrilled to get the collectors edition of
`Beedle The Bard`. And read it that afternoon. biggrin
Today we went to EMS to get her new Snowshoes.
Got her MSR Denali, which are the same as mine, except she
will not need the `Floatation Tails` like I do.

I`ve asked this question a few times now: is my computer the
only one messing up when useing the `apostrophy` or `quotation` key?
--don't AND [ "We all lived in a yellow submarine" ] are in proper useage.
wsoxfan:
Sorry about the throwing up. Sounds like the day went well otherwise.

You are right. I did need the day I had on Christmas day very much. A break from my usual stuff was not only refreshing, but necessary. I don't know if I can build on it, but I will try.

I am having the same problem as ferkixIIL mentioned above about the apostrophe and quotes keys. I let him know that he was not the only one with this issue. It is very annoying.

Have a good time with your mom. I'm sure you'll miss Neo. This has not been the best year for me, to say the least. I suspect you would say the same about yourself. I need to believe that the coming year will bring a turnaround for me. Wishing you a year filled with good health, happiness and minimal stress for you and yours.

I trust your Christmas was a good one. I thought you should know that I posted a positive blog for a change. While it does not change my overall situation, it was a pleasant feeling to be able to talk about my good day.

SCHOOOOLL'S OUT....FOR...Christmas.... (I'm dancing the running man, but you just can't see me--which is probably a good thing.)
Some down time, though speed Christmas Shopping comes next. I have most everything, except for my mother-in-law (affectionately known as "the Thelma-nator," ) sister-in-law, and I'm not quite through with the hubby yet. Stepson, Zane, turns 21 on Dec. 22, then Christmas comes after.... so he's getting...

Last week of classes and finals next week. I'm in the middle of the paper-grading flurry that finishes my semester. I won't be around too much for a couple of weeks except for quick check-ins for the sake of my sanity.
Forgive me if I don't catch all of your blogs over the next couple of weeks. I might correct your grammar and give you...

I hope that you get a least some kicks grading those papers. I f you ever decide that you want to check my spelling and grammar let me know first so I can check on the computer. People like me have gotten completely dependant on spelling and grammar check. My raw work is uncomprehensible.

Same for math. I am also calculator dependant.

Hope you make it back around for christmas.

Hope to see you back here soon! smile

So, Neo and I were both sick Thanksgiving Day and ate leftover Chinese food. We were perfectly happy to eat it, too. Got the nap in, at least. Neo's cooking our express version of T'giving dinner right now, so we're having both a late holiday and a late night dinner, too. Fine for him. I've never seen anyone so easily knocked out by turkey as...

Hope you guys are feeling better. I wouldn't worry about spending too much money this year. I think everyone knows that times are tough all around.
Good luck!
