PS....16 Horsepower are absolutely one of my favorire bands of all time. Saw them on the SACKCLOTH AND ASHES tour in like '96 at a very low point in my life (a girl, can you imagine?) and I was dragged to this show and they absolutely blew me away. That intensity! David Eugene Edwards is a very underrated musician. It is in the top 5 shows I have seen in my lifetime.

That's great. I was about halfway through the quote and I thought to myself, "well, that's what drugs are for," and then I reached the end and realized that that was the point. The great thing about pyschedelics is that even very very minimal use can make one more sensitive to the world around them. At least, I hope that's as true for others as it is for me.

This has little to do with your journal entry ... I just noticed that you listed Baraka as one of your favourite films. I just saw it for the first time and it was bloody amazing. I recommend "Song of Ceylon" (Basil Wright) and "Forest of Bliss" (Robert Gardner) if you haven't already seen those. They aren't as slick as Baraka, but still great documentaries.

that made me really happy. mostly because it belies a lot more self confidence than it might look like. if you can step back and realize that it's your jobs making you feel kinda un-cute instead of just some sort of innate un-cute angstyness, that's a good thing. i have the un-cute angst, and lemme tell you, you sure don't want that. and i even KNOW that i'm fine-looking, but there's something that makes me FEEL not so cute.

anyway, though...

i love the fact that i live near a 24 hour grocery store. this means that when i wake up at midnight due to a royally fucked sleep schedule, i can walk over and get an onion and some broccoli to make myself some breakfast!

So yeah, I finally listened to Lucinda's new one. There are a couple of songs on it that I think are classic - but you're right, the rest of them are kinda eh. It might grow on me though, like Essence did.
