Going to see Rush on Sunday. They were the first band I ever saw in concert, back when Presto came out. That concert blew my mind. It turns out that not every band has giant inflatable rabbits coming out of hats at their shows, but what the fuck did I know?

Haven't seen them since Roll the Bones. Getting psyched...

Recently stopped lupus-causing, liver-toxic antibiotics after nine months. I suppose that's for the best. Had been planning on drinking to make up for lost time, but recently my wife had a brush with an unpleasant "admirer", and sobriety has seemed the wiser course. Since her cancer, it takes very little threat to her to put me into angry caveman mode. Two phone calls and a...

Been away for a while.

One of my friends, who is a medic in the Army Reserves, was called up today. She's been an important part of my life for a year or two now; helped me through some difficult times. She has a loving husband and a little boy, just over three. Once she goes, I won't see her for a year... if...

priapos:
I just started blogging heavily, and man, it has gotten under my skin. I started looking up all the Occult group members and reading their blogs. I've left a few comments on the more interesting or recent ones.

Yours is the second one (alphabetically) from someone I "know" a little, and whew... what a mixed feeling. One the one hand, "good news, we found it!" and on the other "bad news, you have it." Some people write reall extraordinary blogs. Do what thou wilt.
...or failing that what thou likest

I didn't really have a response to your last post in our exchange regarding kids that I'd feel comfortable sharing in the group, but now that I have come here, I want to respond.

M. has some of the best communication skills I've ever encountered. He can repress things as well as anyone, I suppose, but he has a strong history with me of communicating so that I really grok. I hadn't seen them in many years, and despite our deep friendship, we had only exchanged a couple of calls and emails when he told me about his daughter and her addiction. She evidently revealed it, and it took him completely by surprise. I have the impression that she assessed the situation fairly quickly and decided to seek help from him.

Now, anything can happen, right? The test of someone's character comes more from how (s)he deals with mistakes or tragedy.
