i've cancelled my account, at least for now. it has nothing to do with site politics or any of that bullshit, it's just for personal/emotional reasons. if we've become fast friends, please feel free to contact me any time at kenyon_holliday@hotmail.com (so not my real name). i'm not the best correspondant but i'd love to keep in touch, as i've met so many sweethearts here....

I love Todd Solands. My life isn't so full of glitz either. I get up early every day and study the science of hair follicles and skin tissue and such and talk to some of the most vein people in the world who do not appreciate writing or the arts unless it involves makeup which is all well and good as I love makeup myself but sometimes I feel too tired to write and that makes me sad because writing is my favorite thing in the world. Sorry I'm venting so much. I really like your writing and it has been inspiring to me. What helps you write when you feel sort of scattered and can't quite find that "perfect" line?

THE REGAL SHOW WORLD: WHERE YOU ARE KING

The mafia owns this place you know
she bullhorns through a cigarette in the dressing room.
Who do you think funded the mayor's campaign?
Other dancers nod from their posts: chomping
margarine sandwiches, dangling off payphones.

I wait in a chair onstage,
topless, red-lit
for urgent...

I'm glad you recognized the Joanna Newsome song. No one else did. I love her and that song makes me kvell. It reminds me of me so I guess that's why I like it. Most songs that I like a lot have lyrics that remind me of how I feel about myself and other people. How are you beautiful

Yeah, I know. That's pretty much what my sis says, too. "You think about it too much, don't worry about that" I think it's a holdout from a very strange period of my life where I was trying to convince myself that all communication aught to strive to be as literal as possible. I figured something akin to a mathematic language would be most helpful for the world, and art aught to be abandoned aside from decoration. Sounds horrible, doesn't it? It was. What really needed to happen was for me to get off the hard drugs. Which did happen, thankfully. Funny thing is, today I value symbolism & metaphor A LOT. And I'm much happier (and less uptight). Why am I telling you this? Not sure, maybe because you know that Chesterfield King makes me weepy. How could it not though?

Photos? Check. ASAP. Hopefully Sunday. I hope you're well!

A woman on her knees.
Sad dark fog you could lift
with a pitchfork. Gloved
hands, tomatoes, the wonder
how long since
thrill.

2.

Hands in the muck,
she dreamed there was another lover,
from the south, dirty words mixed with
maam like dust with rain into
workable clay. Who would love
the outlaw in her, let her
lie down in the steep...

I do like Optic Nerve... I haven't read it in years though... i was going to buy an Adrian Tomine drawing at the comic convention but it was something like $250 and I didn't fit in the budget...

ok, so my friends are starting a punk/hardcore band and they really want me to front it. no, wait, i know it sounds tongue-in-cheek or silly or whatever, but i'm totally serious. this would be a good thing for me: um, i have lots of anger and this would be a constructive channel for it.

only problem is, last time i did something physical to...

i fucking love seahorses. i went to the tropical fish store with a friend and couldn't stop drooling over their undulating little bodies! not like i want to sleep with one or anything. my bf went to peru and found a dead, dried one for me on the beach- its tail is curled into a perfect spiral and i adore it.

They are adorable. Do you remember that cartoon from the 80s that had sea horses? I don't even remember what it was called. I think it had sea monkeys too and I lubba sea monkeys. Anyhow, sea horses rock!

My ex saw one in the ocean on Cape Cod. He had a mask on. I was sorry I missed it!

ok, normally i eat really healthy food. organic, lots of steamed greens and brown rice, alla that.

then, just recently, i discovered FROZEN WHITECASTLE CHEESEBURGERS in my grocer's freezer!

in other news, i'm also a really huge fan of custard pie.

odd how modern dentistry has made the wisdom tooth obsolete. it'd have some use if we didn't go to dentists and things fell out normal.
