I'm not sure what makes people twist off the way they do. I suspect it's a symptom of a problem with our culture/society. Here in my home state we had a couple of yokels blow up the federal building and kill a bunch of people, and before that there was the guy who pretty much started the postal rampage fad by taking guns to work and killing a bunch of people at the post office in Edmund, OK.
I dunno, maybe this kind of thing has always gone on and we just hear about it now. Modern guns and explosives certainly make it easier to kill a lot of people in a hurry...
