when i don't know what it is that'll satiate me, i eat something first, cause it takes the edge off. and for cheap eatin's? i make curry and fried tofu. coconut milk is only like 60 cents a can (same with garbanzos), and if you're like me, you have a never ending sack of rice in the cupboard. let's not forget the heaps of fried tofu you can get for a buck thirty at an asian market. and of course, salt and curry (a staple of most spice racks). and if you have change to spare, a potato and a carrot or two.
