Hey, I am reading up on 'Dead Man' by Jim Jarmusch(for a myth class) but I loved the film, and do not know if you have seen it(I am sure you have). But this is an aweseome quote from and interview with him that seems up your alley:
"My job is definitely not to presuppose what the audience wants or expects. Commercial cinema is based on marketing analysis. My job is to make films that those people with whom I chose to collaborate would like to see. The rest of the world has to be ignored completely." J.J.

I'm walking in the city tonight
I'm walking in the city at dark
Remembering, remember light
Thinking of nothing and the shooting stars
And this world tonight is mine
A world to be remembered in
Think on a faded photograph
My hair longer than its ever been
And then the sky lit up
and Im lighter than ive ever been

I like that quote as well. Believe me, I wish I could throw my alarm clock off my balcony and do away with it FOREVER!!
I yearn for a life like yours....free to travel and do whatever I want. At least that's what your life sounds like...from the rad tales that you write about....
I'd love to get to the point where I could listen to an album each morning on my headphones, or take a nice, peaceful walk at daybreak...

My lovely chum just saw PJ Harvey and loved her, niot being familiar with her before the show. Hey, yeah, well, my writing class is cool and yet not. To much to detail in that sense. Oddly enough, I write less now that I am back in school, the opposite of my intentions. Well, I guess the Muses' must be hioding out and snickering in a corner while pointing to me. Yeah, well, always good to hear from you JubJub! Keep kicking. It does not matter if one gets to live their dreams 24/7, just as long as they keep weaving a blanket of hopes and aspirations. You'll be totally fine...Argh matey!~ Thar be rough seas ahead but sunshine on the other side...

Hi JJ,
Yeah, I loved the Dawn of the Dead remake, must have watched it 15 times. So many horrors lack suspense these days., plus the characters were fairly non-stereotypical., plus the humour was cool (shooting zombie jay letterman, rosie oDonnal etc).
i can't understand why reviewers thought so little of it.
PS: PJ Harvey is great, they should run off a few clones...

I can't sleep. Today I drank too much caffeine, a vice I hate these last couple years and yet I dabble with nonetheless. Caffeine or not I have sleep problems! Agh! On a positive note, my brain feels like a light switch sometimes lately, a bulb burning bright with ideas, except I can't turn out the glaring shine at times such as this. Back to try and slumber. Maybe the Russian Lit will help me doze, with horrible tales of war and atrocity, a mixed message of beautiful prose saturated with the blood of the dead.

i wish id read this when it came out on dvd
i had a serious urge to burn the damn thing, it frustrated me so badly, i felt like lynch had finally blatantly mocked his fans by jerking off into the camera and calling it a film
but when i have more time ill discuss that theory with more clarity
take care

Those moments when everything slips away from me, when immense cracks appear in the palace of the worldI would sacrifice all my life for them (Aragon, 1966).
...hey journal, what have i been upto...i have been reclusing a bit from the outside world at the moment...but its great...can go diving inside my own imagination...plus ive been carless, so its nice not driving the same roads...

Ok, I put up a few of my paintings on my page. I only had access to a few of the pictures (I am not at home). So you can chek them out now.

Hi there, I read only the tiniest bit of the author I recommended, but this whole world of Soviet Lit. during the Revolution is unveiling into my mind, a banner unrolled in bright red, bright against untouched snow. I know so little about that time, and the creative force that was both spawned, and later destroyed, by it. It's late and I have to skeedaddle. I WILL say I turned in a poem today to my class, my writing class, but for some odd reason, I betrayed my essential rawness. I censored myself, and took out some of the vital erotic harsh pieces of the poem, for fear of revealing that aspect of my writing to my peers in class, but more, because I like that to be mine, and those of my close friends I share it with. I coveted my own writing. But in the end, when re-reading it, I wanted to make my poem into a doormat for me to walk on in disgust, for I felt I destroyed it in the process. How does one balance inner vision with exhibitionism of one's work? Yes yes, the usual blur and chaos of the brain....nite nite.

bitchin, looks fun. I need to start doing film stuff. I was thinking about giving my story when it's over to one of my friend who screenwrites and getting it screenwritten.

Jub Jub! I have the most interesting author to tell you about whose words I have just barely tasted, like snowflakes melted in my mouth before I got to savor them. Time is short but if you don't know him yet I think you may like him:
Yevgeny Zamyatin(1884-1937). I have to do my reading now and it's almost one am and got to be up early, so that's all for now...

the NEW YYYs album?? that album came out in the states like, well over a year ago. but yeah, I guess that you could say in my life "there is no modern romance"
I remember roaming downtown where I live listening to that cd on repeat and just wanting to faint because I was so lifeless with emotion (last year was one of the worst and most emotional years of my life). it truly is an amazing piece of work, the YYYs are geniouses.
you should move to Raleigh once you come to the States. either that or at least rent an apartment with me when I go to NYC, haha. it was cool going there with no friends but to have a constant drinking buddy would rule, lol.
do you have AIM by the way??

Jub Jub! I've totally come to look forward to your coments in my journal. I enjoyed the "Torture Garden" quote very much. I aspire to be so clear in my thoughts. To answer your question, I'm going back to school to study Lit/Writing, which at first made me laugh too much when I first pondered what to study. Lo and Behold, I have chosen the route of bohemian studies after all. To answer your other question, I used to write like my life depended on it, and then I turned my back on it for whatever reason for eons, so now I am jumping back into the water of my words.
I love PJ Harvey... you are soo lucky. It sounds like you are having one wonderful trip. I hope all is okay and you make it back home all safe and sound. Kiss the girls and make them cry for me!
