Funny how quickly things can change in just a day.
First the good stuff (or at least mostly good). It's been great re-connecting with Angela. We've been best friends since high school but have periodically gone through chunks of time where we've fallen out of touch. (And honestly I only have two people I'd categorize as "best friend" status. I realize it's supposed to be...

So this morning I'm having a smoked salmon omelette with capers, onions, and peppers on the waterfront. Eating on board the Queen Mary is far from a bargain, but I'm relying on my local friend for transportation and she's got things to take care of this morning. I don't mind in the least, because despite being a $26 breakfast, simply taking in the experience of...

Sounds like you're enjoying your trip. I checked out the Magic Castle website... damn that's fancy! Dress code and everything.

So lucky in Southern Cali. I bet it is nice and warm. I am from there and I miss it soooooo bad. It is just to expensive to live there.
So who was your famous friend across the room. What were they in?
I saw a very famous rock star last night at the grocery store. He was hiding behind his sun glasses. It made me giggle. I chatted with him. It always kind fo puts me in check. Famous people are just like me with lots of money.
Blog Edit...
OK OK... I will had a couple chapter for men. I'm not a sexist. I just specialize in things for women that's all. Most likely chapters on things men can do to reduce transmition of STD's, increasing their chances of making babies or even reducing their chances, and of coarse a couple chapters on birth and parenting specifically for men.
You guys are shocked right.
ha ha ha

So far, my weekend in the Youngstown, OH area has been great. Believe me when I say there isn't anything particularly interesting here, but that's pretty much irrelevant. I came here to see Cameron, who is a girl I went to high school with. She was a freshman when I was a senior. She was also on the swim team the year I was the...

awww that's awesome. I wish you luck!
On Friday I'm flying in to Pittsburgh then driving into eastern Ohio to meet someone. A high school friend that I haven't seen in nearly two decades. And she's hot. I'm rather excited at the prospect.
Then on Monday I'm flying from Pittsburgh to Long Beach to visit another high school friend. She's more like a sister. But I haven't seen her in a few...

Have fun, or good luck, or both, or whatever.

Never.
Despite today being my last day at my current job, I just ordered a new laptop. I couldn't resist. The sales were just too good to pass up. I'd been giving serious consideration lately to joining the "Mac" crowd, but when all was said and done, there are still currently too many advantages FOR ME to change. The Dell machines offer features I simply cannot...

You can't handle the TRUTH. OH I mean yes we do all need a little Satya.
Sounds like a great job. $72,000 I will never see that. Sounds lovely.

Home today.
Cleaning out the truck tomorrow.
Re-loading Sunday.
Make final delivery in Ohio Tuesday.
Look for a new job.
I always forget that I have HBO. I really want to get into the new "John Adams" series. Perhaps a few weeks off from the road will facilitate that.

I think you should hunt down and drink a good old Pabst Blue Ribbon for me!
I can't decide what I will be partaking in this evening. I have been blowing money like a rockstar lately, maybe it is time for a nice quiet night home.
That doesn't make me old and boring does it?

I would imagine you could get pretty much any job you want. Are you thinking OTR or local?
I see that SG continues to fuck up their website. Clicking the "I loved it!" button is clearly not working correctly. And where is the option to launch the Flash or HTML viewer in a separate window? I find it extremely annoying to not have that, along with the thumbnails.
Why continue to mess with shit that ain't broken in the first place?
EDIT: Okay...

Eighteen years ago, I kissed a freshman who was on the swim team. I was a senior and the team captain. It didn't really go anywhere, and I haven't given it any thought since then. But she recently contacted me via Classmates. And she's giving me funny feelings. In a good way.
dr_lizardo:
I've never had anything like that happen, but then I never kissed any freshmen when I was a senior.
Nothing much new going on at the moment. I'm still feeling annoyed and burned out, but I'm not the kind of person that will quit without a backup plan. I've been with these guys for years, and despite recent disappointments they do still offer a number of advantages that I might be hard pressed to find elsewhere.
I'm somewhat irritated that the reefer company I...

So, the new job that I've supposedly gotten involves me following trucks filled with expensive equipment around in a car. I'm not actually sure why these cars follow them, other than to make sure they get where their going. I don't have a gun, so we're not security, and the things in the trucks aren't... um... alive, so they aren't going to try to escape. So, overall, I'm confused, but will be glad to have a second job.
I'm considering several different options at this point. I'm not in a hurry, but I have to tell you that I'm getting really worn out at work. Running the same roads on a daily basis, and dealing with a number of mechanical, weather, and idiot related annoyances takes its toll.
I've contacted three companies so far just for information. One is a competing over-the-road carrier...

Good luck with whatever change you make. I was also thinking about hauling cars back when I started.
I was surprised at how good the Sam Adams white was when I tried it. Just as good as Franziskaner Hefe Weisen.

This has been a difficult winter. Actually, I'm inclined to say that it has been the most challenging winter season I've had in my entire trucking decade. For whatever reason, the variety of trips I used to get from Pohl has disappeared, and I have spent 99% of my time simply running back and forth between the east coast and the Ohio/Indiana area. I've frequently...

OK. I've been out of the country for awhile. Can you fill me in on the politics??
I'm sorry about your sister, that really sucks. I hope things go as well as they can.
About SG being very gay-friendly, you're absolutely right! The gay girls only group is awesome, and the girl who runs it, GlassHeart, is an awesome chick and wouldn't let any kind of drama or bullshit go down. There's a lot of events in the southern California area as well. Make Angela join, I'm sure she'd love it!
