As far as I knew Emery wasn't doing anything illegal. That was the "problem". They had nothing they could bust him on. Selling seeds wasn't illegal in Canada. Having plants was, deal was, but not selling seeds. He made it quite clear what he was doing and claimed it on taxes and the whole nine yards. The government knew what he was doing, and NEVER caught him doing anything illegal. (Even after several raids of his house and shop)
How is one going to promote change without making changes?
Last time I checked the government wasnt too responsive about Excuse me, Sir/Madame could we please change X law I dont really think its fair and I would really like to see it changed.
But when people use their right to rally or protest things go a lot farther. I love Emerys whole Overgrow the Government slogan. It promotes peaceful protest, not violence. Cuz really now, isnt that what stoners are all about? Peace and love, man!
Personally Id like to see change in the government whilst Im still alive. I cant wait till our overly-educated children be come the leaders of the country to smoke a joint on the way down the street.
