Stripper stories, I knew you wouldn't let me down. Over the weekend, I saw "From Dusk til Dawn" and now I'm terrified of strip clubs in Mexico. Hey! Great to hear from you again! Moving is such a pain in the ass, but there is a level of excitement that goes along to it. Or, maybe that's just my girlie-decorating side speaking. It's fun to start with a clean canvas. This is the time when you buy a case of beer and invite some friends over for a "cleaning party.."

Things here are pretty great, thanks for asking. I'm considering some serious life changes that will involve a move, job change, back to school career change, and this terrifying exhilaration is charging my life. I'm looking forward to a week of normalcy this week though...

I dunno, Jeff... I'm just tired. It's way too early in the game to feel the way I feel now. I guess the last 8 years are catching up to me. 30 days vacation/year... I have fucking 112 days on the books... I haven't had a break in ages. So tired. Try to stay focused, but it's hard. So much shit going on. Every knock on the hotel door is another possibility of erupting terror. Finger on the trigger, eye to the keyhole, "who's there"? It's exciting for the first week or so, after that, I can't describe the burden of walking around paranoid out of your mind... It's exhausting.

What to say? What to say? Got 2 shitty emails from home the other day. A former teammate was killed in an auto accident. Tragic... A huge loss to the community. He was a tactical genius - always had the right answers... Sad. When it's time to go, it's time to go, that's the biggest thing I've learned from this lifestyle. No matter what precautions you take, if your gig's up, poof....
The other email, really has me upset... I guess "the girl" got pretty tanked up the other night, and went WAY out of line with some of my teammates back home. Pretty pissed about that, but she didn't mean it and really wasn't in control of the situation. We'll work it out, she's a good girl, just gets a little wild on the fire water... Bygones. I'll figure it out... Just hard to do with 5 minute phone calls once a week and the occasional email.
Everything here is going well. the kids we're "advising" are coming along. Some much better than others; it's really weird the dispersion in ability amongst these guys. Some are shit-hot, others are like a fucking soup sandwich. Spilt fuck everywhere.
It may be hot, but at least there are a lot of mosquitoes...

This country is so fucked up, you wouldn't believe it. The UN has FUCKED this place up. There is an 85% unemployment rate, the average salary is $4/day... The Un rolls in making UNGODLY amounts of money for doing FUCK ALL, and disrupts the economy. A beer is $5.... Hotel $90/night.... All the foreigners pay it because we're used to it, and it's about average for back home, but it totally fucks these people up... They can't afford to eat, they have shit for clothes, very little structural government... When the UN leaves here, this place is fucked like you read about.
Not to mention, the majority of the PKF are pricks to the poplation and treat them like primates. You should see these fuckers faces when I give them a smile and a wave... You'd think they just saw a lost relative or something...
I'm keeping a journal of the days that I have time to write... Like last time in S. America. I just can't send them to you over this, I'll send them once I'm out of indian country. They'll probably bore you to death.
