There is a fucking piece of schrapnel from that stupid bomb working it's way out of my back. It's the size of a thumbtack and it's irritating the piss out of me that I can't just reach back there and rip it out.

Sounds like you got the right attitude bro just take it one day at a time. As far as the gear goes if I where you I would save your reciepts. I am not sure how the Corp does it , but the Army has a program called RFI (Rapid fielding initiative). This is where they issue the soldiers coming into theater the latest gear. So you might be getting reissued some of the stuff you bought. I know you got a lot of support back home but hit me up if you need anything
