I was banned from tagging for 3 months as well, and I NEVER wrote an offensive tag. It was posted in the boards that staff was going to do a random tag-banning. I guess us lovers were the chosen ones! 
I just recently got my tagging priveleges back, but I guarantee you...in my situation and yours...that it was not because we did anything wrong.
