The weekend is here.

No news. Haven't managed to get out to take any photos lately (some pics with my compact, but it's not the same). Seem to lack ideas and inspiration. Still hankering after medium format kit, or maybe a rangefinder, though not sure the change in pace (or the extra expense!) is what I need.

Stagnating at work a bit.

Trying to sort...

I once thought only very long, straight hair looked nice, but I'm not so rigid in my taste any more. Very short is still my least favorite with the exception of shaved heads which the adherents always praise for being a demonstration of bravery!. Since my late mom spent some time in Auswitz, the bald look also fails on symbolic grounds.

I must say it's nice when an issue is purely personal preference rather than self-destruction. I suppose the world is your oyster, since so many women cut all their hair off after they get married. wink

So I thought I'd blog before too much time passes again...

Got another gig to look forward to. Going to see Rachel Unthank later in the month, Heather Nova in November, and have just added Joan as Policewoman in October. All with Ruth or Clare, it's nice to go with someone. Especially such attractive someones!

Another busy weekend though - running a study day (insects)...

Been rather lax about blogging. That's just me I'm afraid. Still not replaced my profile pic either. That reluctance is me too I'm afraid. Live with it.

People keep asking me if I'm growing a beard. It's a fair question, as I haven't shaved in a week. I usually give a facetious answer though, as I know they're only asking to say "how dare you...

O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!

Coley has a new set HERE

She's so gorgeous it hurts. See it and be happy. Front page in no time, or there's something wrong with the world.

Appreciate her people.

Thanks.. I do 2 backwards ones.. ones called the back hook and the other is the reverse grab.. the revers grab I hold on with one hand, kick my legs off the ground and reach below me with the other hand and grab the pole. I have no idea why I just told you that instead of just saying thanks. Thanks, btw.

Having fun getting to now the new camera. Itching to try out some street and portrait photography with it.

Have just bought tickets to see Heather Nova at Union Chapel in November. The perfect music/venue combination perhaps? Going to see Rachel Unthank and the Winterset at Royal Opera House 2. Going with Ruth to the former and Ruth and Clare to the latter. I now...

Spent saturday with the cream of UK arachnologists doing a spider survey of a site in East Kent. have to wait and see if we've turned up anything interesting.

Was a naughty boy today and (finally) bought myself a digital compact camera - something to carry around that's more discreet than my SLR. So am now the proud owner of a Panny LX3! Liking it...

PS keep missing the new series of Flight of the Conchords, only managed to see the first one, anyone know if it's any good. I loved the first series.

Had a really good weekend with friends who came down for a visit. Went to Down House (where Darwin lived), then to Down Bank, and Sunday visited more sites.

Kimya Dawson on monday night was disappointing. She announced that they hadn't played together for 9 months and hadn't rehersed or soundchecked before the gig and you could tell! First two songs were played out of...

Well, got a second opinion on the work the original garage said needed doing on the car and turns out the expensive thing doesn't need doing at all - it was a simple thing the 'new' garage fixed for free. Still cost about 470 to do the breaks, and it needs an MOT in the next couple of weeks. But at least I'm only gonna...

Fucking cars!

I only have one 'coz I need one for work, I don't want one. The bastard thing just seems to eat money! Just had a service and apparently it needs about 1300 of work doing. I'm getting a second opinion, coz some of it sounds dodgey. Reckon I'm still looking at at least 800 though. S'only 5 years old.

Had a firends wedding...

More going through the motions than 'coz I've got anything of interest to say.

Got the next week and a half off work. Friend's wedding in the lake district next weekend. Not many people I went to school or Uni with that aren't married, with or without kids, beginning to feel a bit left behind!

Hoping to go out and make lits of photos. Weather...

I've come to the conclusion I'm stuck in a rut and need a change, otherwise i'm in danger of slipping into a funk of apathy and depression. I'm definitely gonna have to make this change myself, waiting for something (or someone) to happen to me hasn't worked out for me so far. Gotta be pro-active, starting with moving out of the shit-hole town I'm living...
