I find myself pondering, and it is a serious ponder.

Skinny jeans over 30? I'm haven't gone too far to seed; I can get my legs in them. I know my limits, certainly not lilac, certainly not going mad with a low rise. I reckon I'm a reasonably well dapper guy for my advanced years.

BUT...! Should it even be attempted? Hmmm.

Definitely.

Regardless of fashion, skinny jeans on anyone who can actually wear skinny jeans look great! --- I would like to be able to but my body's penchant for displaying a fiine builder's crack prevents me!

Question is - denim colour? - and what do you pair it with on top?

yes, sweet as indeed! --- innit? tongue

Hoots man! (that should be closer to the lingo)

You inspired me... I went out and bought a pair of skinny jeans today - well, not too skinny - but I have large thighs (think: prop forward of a rugby team) so they're tight all the same!

And yes, I'll combo them up with sweaters and simple t-shirts (I have a penchant for stark white tees at the moment).

Scarves are great! --- I have a selection of three that I rotate in the transition seasons of spring and autumn... one navy blue wool, one houndstooth (not burberry), and one just cream-linen --- always a good look!

The Snood on the other hand would take a brave man to pull off properly! --- I just don't think my fashion sense is ballsy enough to do it!

I think you can though wink

Crossing The Bar
for Solipsist/Simon

Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!...

I was shocked. One of the nicest guys on this site.

I don't know the details or motivation behind this... but Tennyson is a great poet.

Today I used heteronormative in a sentence.

It was quite a good sentence: 'you need to redesign this poster, it's too het.' It's odd, I only ever seem to use that term in an academic or theoretical context... a policy meeting or Pride committee. The practicality of it was weird.

The designer totally got what I meant-- sorry no drama there-- and let's see what...

Floopy sunday. Like it a lot.

Went for a nice run in the sunshine. It's about the first really nice day we've had here all year-- and on the first day of Spring, too. Makes me all optimistic.

Spent the rest of the day reading, chilling and generally hanging. Also great--I don't usually manage to sit still for too long before going all antsy, especially...

Said goodbye to my faithful router this week. Sniff. Went to the great computer museum in the sky. Don't know if I was sad so much, but I did feel a twinge in my internet access.

Its passing has left a great hole in my network settings. Seriously, not sure what the hell happened there-- somehow it flipped a switch in the DHCP settings in...

Good lord, I really am crap about posting anything. It's been more than a year since my 'last confession.'

Just seems like the kind of day for mooching around the house. Spent most of the day yesterday running around doing errands and the chores that seem to make up 'grown-up' life these days.

Fortunately the Dude seems to be recovering from the trauma of spending...

Gah.

Sinuses full of cold. Sniff. Unable to sleep.

Can't for some reason convince my mac to connect to the router, so I am puttering away on the not quite so nice PC laptop.

I seem to say 'gah' a lot. But it's so expressive.

Gah.

Have I posted nothing in this long? Jeez.

Well, I have had a few things to do... handed in the thesis, and passed! Yay!

Went on a massive holiday in Australia and New Zealand! Woo-hoo!

But I'm not gonna post about any of that exciting stuff, oh no. I'm back and today, I painted our front door. They say that painting is 80% preparation and...

This came up in the pub last night. At what point does one go from 'dating' to being someone's boy- or girlfriend? Now, being the loved-up married guy that I am, I guess I crossed that particular line years ago, and I didn't really spot the moment when it happened.

The best description I could find is that it's a default thing. It's the point...

Took a break from the writing routine and had the usual weekly 'nerd nite'-- rpg with the guys. At the moment we're normally alternating weeks of Rob running Star Wars Saga Edition (which rocks so much it makes me feel disloyal to the D6 version, my all-time fave game) and Steven running Burning Wheel (which is really inspiring to read but we can't seem to...
