Last weekend, My friend Dave came down from Humboldt to stay at my house for a few days. We went to Rocket (a indie/80s nightclub in SF), visited some frends in the South Bay and gave them their wedding absinthe (because kitchen utensils are passe), which we enjoyed... a lot. IEspecially when we watched the movie May - it made an already fucked-up movie much...

absinthe huh? damn, I want to get my hands on some of that.

You should do the SG thing at work...but, pretend the the customer you are talking to is the same girl that you are looking at. It should make for some intereseting phone conversations tongue tongue tongue

Oh hey, I got a ticket to the Faint on the Tuesday show...so I'll see you there.

Wow, it's been a while since I've updated. Lots of stuff has been going on lately. My mom has started her chemotherapy, and my family is supporting her every step of the way. We're confident her lymphoma will be cured, but the doctors just recently discovered that she has chronic lymphocytic leukemia,. They told her to "just live her life", which basically means there is no...

let's see. before I forget.
Here is the link for the Bright Eyes tickets. They have been up for months now but they never formally anounced it anywhere and I ran across them on the Saddle Creek site a while back.

I'm really sorry to hear about your mother though. Like you said, the 'enjoying the time you have' statement may sound all cheesy but it is so true. People in our life could up and leave or get into some sort of accident tommorow while we take their presence for granted today.

Hope to see you at the Blood Brothers and/or the Bright Eyes show.

This month has been a month of seemingly endless waiting. Waiting for my mom to get her test results back to see how bad her lymphoma is. Waiting to see if it is indeed curable and treatable. Waiting for her chemotherapy only to have it postponed so they can run more tests that make us wait. Waiting to see her on the proverbial road to...

shit, that's awful.
i don't understand how they can make people wait for so long for treatment of cancer when they say quick treatment is so imperative. we've been dealing with my grandmother's lung cancer for the past 3 months. 2 surgeries later and they've yet to even address the throat cancer.
good luck with everything.

It's been a pretty uneventful wek this week. I've been spending time at home, saving money until the end of the month when I get my paycheck (the only problem being on salary is that I get paid at the end of the month... almost like I'm on welfare!) But I'll be seeing Morrissey tomorrow, and Rilo Kiley on Thursday, and a few shows in...

How about that Morrissey ehhh whatever Can't help but still love that jerk though. I'll have to find out from you what the whole story was. I was watching the show from on top of a dumster behind the gates to the right of the stage so I didn't get the scoop on why he didn't come out tongue

My mom has been having some health problems lately, and a few weeks ago went in to the doctor's to get tested for varous illnesses. The results came back today, and show that she has lymphoma. frown frown frown frown frown frown
Fortunately, it's the B type lymphoma, which is highly treatable as well as potentially curable, but it still sucks... Fortunately, she works in a doctor's office and is pretty...

So I finally got a job! My friend hooked me up with a job at a warranty outsourcing place... basically I sit at a computer for eight hours a day and occasioanlly answer the phone. Apparently this is the dead season; the holidays are when we get thousands of calls a day. The salary is decent, but I only get paid once a month... frown
It's...

Welcome, welcome, welcome...another card carrying member of the ergonomic chair attack team. Watch! right before your eyes as upper body strength deminishes, back pain rises and anxiety and restlessness shoot straight through the roof.

Seriously though biggrin Congrats. No matter how shitty the day gets you can always remember that at least you are not standing on your feet for an eight hour shift skull. If you get board on Thurdays and Friday afternoons you should give my cell phone a ring whilst I'm at work and we can compare who's ass is more asleep...tip: if you intentionally sit on your wallet at the right angle for long enough not only will your whole leg fall asleep but your lower spine will as well!!!

I suppose I'll update this thing now. It's been a really busy week or so. The biggest even over the weekend was my longtime friend Georgia's wedding. She walked down the aisle to string versions of Radiohead songs since she's a pretty obsessive fan of theirs, and they had their first dance as a couple to Where is My Mind by The Pixies. How rad...

This weekend finds yet another one of my best friends getting married. First, my best friend Dave got married last year, and now my friend Georgia will tie the knot. This makes me feel
1.)that I'm not really getting anywhere in my own life relationship-wise (I haven't met anyone who even comes close to being that "special someone", and since I'm single now, who knows...

I did see the show, and they were really good. Turns out my friends Michelle and Autumn are pals with Lisa, the singer/bassist so we hung out after the show. Those kids are really nice and down to earth. Lisa said they are headed back to LA to finish up the new LP. We listened to some of it and it's really good. Cant believe a havn't really heard much of their music. LISA IS SEXY AS HELL. Guess i missed you though. Too bad, we'll have to hang out sometime, it's always good meating new faces. Im going to Denver on Sunday but I'll try to connect with you when I get back. have fun this weekend

So I was supposed to be hooked up to the internet by now. But no. said SBC Internet Services. That would be too easy. Instead, why don't we tell Phil that his service has been cancelled? Then, the next day, we'll tell him it's not, then put him on hold for 90 minutes (using up a third of his monthly anytime minutes in the process)...

I was just reading the little article thingy in the Guardian about My Favorite not 20 minutes before I logged on and read your journal surreal

And venues! Yeah, I don't know where places like the Fillmore get off saying "intimate". I think it must fit one of these three catagories to be able to wear the badge of intimate:

A) You can actually touch the ceiling (bonus points it someone can actually get there arm smacked with a ceiling fan when dancing) ...
B) The stage is so low and small that you basically just can see the bands heads bobbing and the occasional guitar neck...
C) My personal fave - The room is so small and poorly ventalated that you can feel yourself breathing in others sweat and you don't get out without catching at least two airborn viruses blackeyed

Back on the internet again. I should be getting my house hooked up the web tomorrow, if all goes well.

I ended up not going to Los Angeles last weekend, because my friend's granmother passed away the day before we were supposed to leave. frown
What's weird is that we were talking about her grandmother quite extensively just the day before.
