Good news: I adopted a baby California Kingsnake last weekend and he is OH SO cute! He finally ate two pinks on Wednesday night I am so thrilled. His previous owners purchased him from Petsmart (UGHHH!) and they had him for about six weeks and he hadn't eaten at all. Pics to come soon if I can get my crazy digi camera to cooperate...

Had a busy (but fun-filled) weekend and my ass is DRAGGING. I finished up the semester on Thursday night and took a much-needed vacation day away from corporate hell on Friday. I volunteered at the nature center during the day and went and saw my good friend's band Mudcat play at Darwin's that night. I danced with a couple of cute hippie girlies...

Oy vey! I am still so freaking stressed about Grad school right now. It is SO DAMN HARD to work full-time AND attend an accelerated full-time Graduate program (for working adults, nonetheless). This is the last week of the semester and I am really looking forward to doing absolutely nothing (academically speaking) over the next couple of weeks. So I met with my academic advisor...

you are very we,come...and sadly i was created circa 87 so sadly i missed the black flag and minor threat days.

having never attended college or grad school myself, I don't know what you are facing. I do know both of my sons say college is a lot more work than they expected, so trying to balance it with a full time job must be crazy.have to admire your strength and drive. good luck with the dissertation.

I found an injured juvenile Grackle near my office this morning. He was so pretty! I checked him for bleeding and wing injuries and kept him in a box at my desk for a few hours. I originally thought he may have head trauma, but luckily, after a couple of hours he began to stand on his own and I was able to release him...

What are you in grad school for, anyway? I'm working on my PhD in philosophy, as I think is mentioned once or twice in my profile.

Too bad things don't seem to be working out for you on the relationship front. It does indeed suck to be alone, but it seems to me that being happy is more important that being with someone. I guess I just mean that I don't see the value of settling, but then again, being in a poly relationship changes my perspective. Since I've always got my girlfriend, I don't feel the need to make it work when the differences are too great. Granted, i would like another long-term partner, but I just feel like I can take the time to find the right person. Sorry for the rambling.

Okay, as if my last journal entry wasn't fucked up enough, let's move on to the next issue at hand: GUYS WHO DON'T UNDERSTAND/ACCEPT THE WORD NO. Ah, yes..."those" guys. Let me elaborate: (1) I am interested in a guy on the West coast (that I want but can't have and who probably doesn't even really want me...

i agree.

The gf has had this a few times unfortunately. The only way you can get them to understand is to be completely blunt and straight forward otherwise they will linger.,

So, I met a really cool guy on SG and I was really starting to dig him. And guess what?? He's fucking 3,000 miles away. Yep, you heard right kids.....we're dealing with the East coast/West coast differential. For all its worth, he may as well live in fucking Timbuktu. The fucking 3-hour time difference sucks....the physical distance sucks....and...
