Flowery descriptions infuriate me. I'm reading this book for my Medieval Spain called "The Ornament of the World," and though it contains good historical information, the women who wrote it gets her poetry on. She's a huge arabophile, and gushes volumes about anything that the Arab (and Berber!) conquerors did, built, wrote, pissed on in the Iberian Peninsula. What is wrong with concise sentences and...

haha, i love that shrine... and your first cat looks like me lady!

My kitty, Gus, used to spend hours sitting in the windowsill, watching traffic and eyeing the delicious birdies. Your pics make me miss her desperately. Sigh.

By the way, I'm a big drunk dork and I left my bag at your place after bowling. Could I stop by and pick it up? Better yet, would you mind bringing it to Karaokee? I'll totally owe you a drink. I'm slowing dying without my sketchbooks.

I'm memorizing a poem in Arabic. I want you all to know this so that when I die (as a result of an internal brain explosion) you'll be sympathetic. smile
longtimecoming:
Thank you, but it is not mine . It is bob dylans. And I don't really speak spannish that well but it sounds like you said you had lobsters in your pants?

Good luck with the arabic poem.i don't think you will die as a result. But i will try to keep visiting your page to make sure smile

People at the library are ridiculous. I've never seen more "stylish" sweatpants than at McGill Library. Those people make me want to give them library fines. It was a lovely day in Squibbington again. The sun makes me delirious with joy. I needed new sunglasses. I lost the other ones, which I had purchased at Jean Coutu (ou on trouve du tout, meme une amie)...

Firefly did end up working and it was pretty good. Not as good as Angel, but really really interesting. It's a combination sci-fi Western, which you'd think would be awful, but it's not. These people fly around in spaceships, and sort of act as courriers/thieves. The back drop is that a number of years ago there was a unification of a number of the planets,...

I rented Firefly the other day, and was excited about watching it because it was created by Joss Whedon, the same man who created Buffy and Angel. But! The damn dvd did not work in my damn player! Arse! I cleaned it off. Maybe now it'll work. I need Joss Whedon to do schoolwork. eeek
psychotic:
I know that the guy who used to write Buffy now writes comic books and, well, he's just greta... made me wanna rent buffy (cause, well, never watched it)

The squibbers have decided (officially, I think) that my desk and its surrounding area is entirely their territory. My desk lamp is not there to help me read, thank you very much, but rather it is a sunlamp. The little one actually yowls when I move it while she's lying underneath it. Also, they've taken over my windowsill and destroyed my blinds. Which were ugly...

I have a tried and true method for dealing with school-related stress:

1. Breathe In

2. Breathe Out

3. Breathe In

4. Steal a motorcycle, make tracks for Mexico (stop in Arkansas to point and laugh), ride into Tiajuana, Develop a coke habit, wake up three weeks later in a motel room that smells like turpentine and smoke next to a hairy Gigalo name Tino, get arrested for mail fraud, kill another prisoner with a shank made from a sharpened toothbrush over a pack of stale smokes, tunnel under the wall, escape to freedom and learn to surf.

5. Breathe out

... well, it worked for me. But Tino still calls at all hours of the night. Oh well.

I seem to be entirely unable to do Arabic. I'm vaguely panicking. Not entirely, but a bit. Yikes....bluh. I guess I'll try to get up sort of on time tomorrow and maybe do a bit of work before class? Is that possible? Am I a crazy squib lady?
psychotic:
well, my b-day is the 9th and wolf lady's birthday is the 12th so, basically, we have 3 great reasons to get drunk (one might say, what's the 3rd - well, to sing at a mike in front of tons of delirious grannies... we need to be drunk!?!
How's the little cat doing! would have loved to meet him, I'M such a cat freak

Bowling is super fun. Bowling in a skirt is even better. I'm an infinitely better bowler than I ever thought possible. Beer helps. Of course, it also makes one into a blob but whatever....
I think that I have to wait until school's finished to entirely cut out white flour/refined sugar from my diet. It's just too much effort right. I'll just have to do...

I am such a disgusting slug. And, of course, our charming other roomate is in the kitchen, making it impossible for me to feel comfortable in there.

Roomates are over-rated. smile
jormagund:
Well... if I had a million dollars we wouldn't HAVE to eat Kraft dinner. But (most likely) we still would. Perhaps with the fanciest dijon ketchups.

It was unusual for me to have such nightmares. And unusual to remember them. I don't seem to usually remember my dreams lately so it is something of a surprise when I actually do. I guess that officially I don't now remember the second one... but I did remember it immediately after waking up.

All of this occured on a night when I was extremely worried about my neice and her mom (my sister). Said neice was brought to the hospital with bruises all over her body. My sister was worried that they'd think it was abuse. After tests, they determined the cause and began a treatment. Supposedly something she will overcome in a month or two and should not re-occur. Quite a relief.

Anyhow, I have lived with (non-romantic) roomates and also by myself. I definitely prefer the latter. But perhaps with a kitty to share the space with.
