This is the right one, I promise! I start work tonight, I've got a broken arrow straight through my heart. You know, where that knife was. I think it looks better like this, and it might hurt a little bit less, but not enough to make a change in my ways.

This was a bit of a surprise to find on SG.

Anne Carson's translations of Greek tragedy are absolutely enthralling. Antigonick is amazing, and -- notwithstanding Carson's denial of any "rewrite" -- fairly radical. Every page was a wonderful surprise. The illustrations and overall design also make the whole book a joy to read.

Great!! I'm reading "NOX" these days! Nice surprise to find this here!!

John Shirley may not be a household name, but for three decades hes been an incredibly influential and prolific writer. He was one of the most important early writers in the movement that would later be called cyberpunk, and William Gibson and others have paid tribute to his influence. Shirleys...

Ugh. In the original telling of The Crow, James O' Barr included metaphor imagery of a horse running into barbed wire. They have been beating that dead horse for almost two decades.

It was a one shot storyline, quit digging it back up and fucking fresh holes into the corpse.

Is this really nessessary?

G Willow Wilson first made a name for herself in comics in 2007 when the graphic novel Cairo which she wrote was published by Vertigo and made a splash, combining fantasy and realism in an attempt to capture life in Egypts capital city. She followed up the book with the series Air, which...

"Truthfully, I wasnt really loving any of it until one night when I could clear my head. I was just driving in LA at night and the lights were zooming by, and I listened to the record and thats when I got into it. Sometimes I find that as life goes on, its cluttering your mind all the time. Its hard to just focus on the musicMost of the time people are listening to music and fussing around on their phone or the computer, theyre always doing something else. Its really only in the car that I find that I can focus on it. Theres this zen thing, driving and listening to music." - Rob Zombie

my favorite part of the interview, so true
nixmuse:
Great interview. I really cut back on going to live shows in the last few years bc of some of the things you two spoke about. The ability and desire to record EVERY SINGLE moment of our lives is disconnecting us with the moments we're trying to capture.

Last night I saw SUICIDE for the first time. I believe it was a free concert to promote the new art installation that Alan Vega just put up. I walked up to the space that they were playing at and not only was it 100 people over capacity, folks were spilling out on to the street for about fifteen feet in all directions hoping they...

I don't know if any of y'all remember me mentioning that I had an article coming out in the Jim Goad edited Exotic Magazine this month? As I open my personal e-mail account I see a letter from Jimmy titled "Congratulations...", I can't hold back to read the good news.

"...on having the first article censored by upper management during the Exotic

The album is terrific. I purchased it about a week ago off Amazon and it hasnt left my cd player yet! The retro vibe pays tribute to classic R&B but it sounds fresh. The songs are a good mix of flirty and fun. If you liked Cee Lo's ''The Lady Killer'' then you'll love it. It would make a good addition to most collections though. Its unique blend of styles and Chantal's vocals make "The one, the only...'' an album I recommend checking out.

I just came across this article. I love her solo album. It was a shocker at first to hear her in such a sexy soulful way from the morningwood sound. I love it alot. And it gets major rotation with my smashing pumpkins and polica!!!
