Okay, this one may get a bit deep. I apologize in advance (assuming anyone reads these!)

The past few years have been a bit rough. I struggled to finish my Master's degree, was stuck in a deadend job where I felt I got no respect from management, and was turned down in every attempt to get another job outside of town (over 110 put...

@psychogirl420  Thank you so much for the well wishes :)  I still have some pretty bruised feelings (and a teetering ego!) about everything, but things are definitely getting better.  Its probably for the best in the long run; but at the moment, it still sucks! :)

Even the darkest night give to the break of day, I'm sure there's an end in sight for you my friend:) I went through a horribly abusive marriage physically, mentally, emotionally..I came out of it with a VERY bruised ego, for a long time thought I was worth nothing...Know that you are not, that there are people out there that do care:)

So, I've come to the conclusion recently that I'm a pretty strong romantic. This realization may come as a shock to some; not because it seems out of line with my personality but because it took me this long to really come to terms with it. In fact, I will openly admit, that I've been a semi-lurking member of the Hopeless ROmantics...

We love romantics:)

Sadly, history doesn't back that up with me ;)  But, hey, I'm going to give it a shot; if anything else, I'll be happier being truer to myself!

So, I haven't updated this blog in well over a year; most of the friends I once had on this group seem to have drifted off in the time since, which is perfectly understandable. But, this was always the place I could go to explain how I feel about this. So, on the off chance anyone actualy sees this, I felt that I should...

some of us are still around. And this is perhaps for the best.
dannydmc:
Thanks man, it actually means a good deal that there are still some people around. In a lot of ways, I have a good deal of mixed feelings about the last few years. They were years where I finally managed to brak out of my shell, and truly become comfortable with myself socially (and, in the process, become one of the 'cool' downtown people. I've learned that people I don't even know tell stories about me, for Christ's sake!) But, at the same time, i feel like i sacrificed certain parts of myself which had been important. Its odd. The last few years in Fargo have been some of the best in my life, and I love them, but there seems to have been a cost; one which I didn't truly understand when I took up the adventure, if you will.

I have an embarrassing story to relate. One which I'm not particularly proud of, but one which, now that I look back on it, provided a certain amount of humor value at the very least.

So, a few weeks ago I ran into a girl who I hadn't seen in a year. I should also state from the beginning that I had a...

I had the same sort of thing happen... I had a major crush on this guy (worked at my local Sunmart) and we hung out a few times. Then I didn't hear from him for awhile, then I ran into him again and found out he had a girlfriend. Then he called me a few months later, got drunk, and BAM he said he'd always had a crush on me and felt sexual tension, blah blah, and it led to some heavy petting. Then I never heard from him again, until I moved out to CA and a year later he messaged me on facebook apologizing, saying the same kind of thing this girl used on you.

So you see, it's not just girls. I'm sure it usually is, because we can be kind of nasty sometimes with the mind games. But it happens... maybe they just get scared, or maybe they just don't know how to react to certain feelings inside themselves. And of course we are going to have some major reactions, here are these people we've been kind of in love with telling us they were feeling the same, and then they want to take the feelings back? it's tough.

I wandered over here from Dating Sucks, and just want to say that things are likely to work out for someone as honest, thoughtful, and willing to learn as you seem to be.

Since I usually love starting this things out with a video; here's a new song by Hank III which, is pretty appropriate to the entire blog biggrin

Seeing as how its, once again, been a few months since i last updated this blog, i feel honor bound to do so now (how much things have changed since I lived in Alaska and was posting once...

Its been a few months since I last updated this blog, and I'm afraid that this next entry is going to be rather short to boot. Its a late night, I've got to get up at a decent hour tomorrow (noon biggrin ) and things are a foot in this fair town of mine; as a result, I doubt that I'll be able to...

The last few months have left me scratching my head and asking a very single question; "What's Going On?" Because of that, before you read this long journal entry, why not enjoy one of the most appropriate songs ever written about my current state of mind!

So, you listened to it? Good! Now keep that chorus in mind as you read this blog; you...

Homo Jocko by Devo

A completely random video that has NOTHING to do with my bellow post, except that I've recently been getting into Devo and some 80s New Wave and underground music. Its all fun biggrin

Tonight is a Marquette night, the type I used to experience all too frequently back in my college days. Its after 1 o'clock and I'm terribly...

I'm actually German, Polish, Irish, and English. Making your response kinda funny. I'm pretty much 52% German and the rest is mixed equally. It's quite interesting. My dad has actually been spending a lot of time looking into our ancestry--we can trace it back to the 15th Century precisely then it gets a bit hazy. Your story about WI is kinda funny, because I felt the same way when I visited eastern PA which supposedly has a lot of German immigrants (that's where all the Germans in my family started anyway).

Before I start, my friend Shan introduced me to the band "The Gossip" last week. My GOD can that woman sing!
