The thing is the entire group became hostile twoards him with the shot. If they did not fire on him it is a differnt case. But if they did the entire group becomes combatant who may have been armed and were going for a firing position or were going for thier weapons. Vang did not know and I'm sure a certain amount of his training came into play.

If Vang fled there is a possibility that he would have been pursued by three armed people on foot them the two on the quad. He kept the intiative.

The reload argument is stupid I think. The act of removing a magazine and replaceing another is automatic. If the SKS was top fed from strippers it would take a few seconds even less if detachable magazine and it may have even had a thirty round on it.
You have to put yourself in Vangs shoes. You get shot at. You have a rifle in your hands and know how to use it. You don't know who is armed and you don't know what they are running to do. You are not thinking but reacting.

I hope I'm not browbeating on this but I like the Hmong alot. Vang may have been a little in the wrong being on private land but to fire on him and call him a gook... I almost want to give those people a Darwin award.

ok, so i left work early yesterday, at 2 pm. got home, emjoyed some yummy taco bell, then crashed for roughly 16hours!!!!
