you gotta do what you gotta do with the man...i think it's only natural to want to preserve the relationship even if it's friendship, what concerns me is you are thinking in the back of your mind that you want him back, and that is a sure fire way to get hurt. just my 2 cents, trust me i recently left my bf of 5 years, and moved in with a new guy, who by the way is fabulous, but it took ben and i breaking up for me to realize that we could very possibly be made for one another...can it work? i think so, but now i'm here, so what do i do? lol...go figure right?
