Oh yea, I bought a duplicate copy of DMZ 16 by mistake, but it's still well worth it! And I can't wait for my t-shirt to arrive so I'll be safe when I wander out of the "Free Speech Zones".
And if you ever need a Chicago guide for "Local", please keep me in mind. Seriously, I can round up all the info you need.

I agree with you that the question itself is spurious. It's usually a "clever" tool for trying to suss out someone's politics in a very broad, ingenuine way.
People who are really concerned may want to phraze the question more like, "do you appreciate the sacrifices our armed forces make to ensure our freedoms," or something like that. Appreciating the troops seems more meaningful that "supporting" them.
Does that make sense? Or is it all just semantics?

Except that the mission they're on does fuck all to ensure anyone's freedoms, except maybe corporate freedom to make profits.
I don't think the answer is to come up with new questions. Obviously no one wants more soldiers to die. Once everyone's on that same page, the question and answer kind of takes care of itself.
