Some people build up a worldview, full of dogma and assertions and, most of all, built on the premise that they are 'real' and everyone else is 'the Man.' It's sometimes defiant, but a lot of the time it's fear. They're afraid that their preconceptions are really prejudices and that they're not superior to the people around them, just because they're unsuccessful and unpopular.

And so they decide that the girls they couldn't get in high school were just fake and stuck up. Or they decide that they're too 'real' to get their breasts done -- that their face piercing means individuality but a breast implant's 'fake.' It stops being a personal philosophy, and it becomes a knee-jerk reaction. A defense against shortcomings they won't acknowledge they have.

And then someone like you comes along. And you're sweet and friendly and pretty and you don't fit their preconceptions. Maybe you had work done that violates their pravda. Maybe you're not quite their mold. Maybe you're yourself, doing the things for yourself that help you feel good about yourself.

It's scary, because if they don't challenge that -- if they don't tear you down... then maybe the people they rail against are just that -- people. Maybe they're not innately superior to the people they've trashed in the abstract. Maybe things aren't black and white. Maybe....

...maybe in the end it's just different ways to live or be.

You are a sweet, friendly girl who enjoys people and enjoys herself. You are beautiful and sexy, and wear your own skin better than six other women. You have done the things that look and feel right to you, and you're not ashamed of them. Your tattoos reflect you and enhance you, without disguising you. They're part of you. And so are your breasts. And you've got just about the best eyes on Suicidegirls.

You scare them, and so they trash you. It's small and mean and petty of them, and I'm sorry it happens. But at the end of the day, you're awesome whether they're scared of you or not.
