So I've had this weird stomach bug since Saturday, and at first I thought it was food poisoning, so I just figured wait it out, all will be well. EnergyChannel came down with it on Sunday, and we were still thinking just food poisoning. I managed to work on Sunday morning at a planned event, for which I receive a bonus day off, and ended...

EnergyChannel has decided that Harold needs a kitten. So, we are now window shopping for kittens. I'm still not sold on the idea of becoming a two-cat household, but I do remember when I was a kid, our old crotchety male cat became a lot nicer when my new kitten was introduced to the household. And Harold is already much nicer than this cat was....

I've always been partial to the Russian Blue

Oh yes! My roomates from California are moving up today (which is what I've been waiting for) and we found a house in the NE. 31st and Alberta or some such. So, hopefully, we'll be having people over next weekend for a housewarming potluck deal.

I was going to do a new journal entry espousing the awesomeness of mock camping and good friends, but with the exception of the camping, the last journal entry pretty much covers this weekend as well.

So much food, so much campfire smoke, and delicious, delicious cheese curds. Every weekend should be like that.

Oh damn, I HAVE to hear that the next time I'm in P-town.

My son is a huge Gaffigan fan. We went to the show together. It was such good times. When he wants to crack me up, he does his own imitation. biggrin

What a great weekend hanging out with friends. I'm still amazed that I've managed to meet so many awesome people because of this site. I'm too lazy to list all of you, but you know who you are. You all make my weekends, and not just because of the delicious food. wink

I really don't want the weekend to be over already.

He's not that amazing.

It was nice meeting you too! Camping will be fun. No rockband to fight over. Just sweet, sweet trivial pursuit.
unravled:
Sounds good to me. Randy's only condition is that he and his long legs gets shotgun. Can we meet at Adam's so we can leave our car in his driveway?

All of a sudden, money is once again a great concern. I wonder what it's like to never worry about money?
brokenbeatnik:
Remember, there's always more.

Whenever I get stressed about money (and we've had a few doozies, including a conversation last fall about dismantling the firm and firing our employee), I take a deep breath, and try to ground myself in my faith in abundance. Be prudent and cut unnecessary expenses, yes, of course. Why be weighted down more than necessary? And yes, work relentlessly. Just because it's everywhere doesn't mean it's going to fall into your lap if you aren't looking. But at the same time, stay generous and freely giving. Each time you give fearlessly, you become more free, and more open to receive more.

I don't know why I felt I had to say that, but I hope you find it useful. There is always more, and you will find it.
brokenbeatnik:
I hear that.

It's been a long time since I've been able to spend 90% of the weekend in my pajamas. We got to be social on Friday night, then didn't really leave the house on Saturday or Sunday. We were too lazy for the cable box, however, as it crapped out on us Saturday night. We then had to content ourselves with watching movies all day Sunday....

Thanks for the 30th cheer. I took it nice and chill. I've been spending a lot of time working on the business, so I've been reelling myself in a bit. I hope you tear it up when you hit dirty 30 (so it's been coined here.)

Oh the sound of PJs
snakeplissken:
That does look like a pretty good recipe. I think I might play with a little bit and give it a try.

Last weekend: sunny and 70+ degrees.

This weekend: chance of snow.

What the fuck, Portland? Make up your damn mind already. blackeyed

From the frequency of my journal entries, you'd never guess that I sometimes spend entire portions of my evening on SG, lurking in my groups, usually having nothing to add to the conversation but enjoying watching people splatter their psychological issues all over each thread. It's fun wondering why some people post what they do, and how many who can't spell still insist that it...

Hahah, well, I told it to look for Portland, Oregon, so apparently it's working! Thanks! smile

Hope to see you at some more events. smile

I miss you guys. We both do. Virtual interaction just isn't as good as actual interaction.

However, in leaving-the-house news, we get to see the Raveonettes on Friday! Yay us.
erika:
I'd never heard of the Raveonettes before, but now Google has assured me that they do look pretty awesome. I'm glad you guys can finally get out a bit!
mistersatan:
Nah, he's WAY better than me.

I hate it when I have dreams about people who have been dead for years. I always wake up confused and unsettled, convinced that maybe they aren't dead after all. It leaves a "dream film" over my psyche for the rest of the day.

Speaking of dead people, after almost two weeks of this damn flu, I think I'm almost back to normal. I still...

Flu was a freaking bummer! I had it for a solid two weeks too. Thanks for the birthday wishes. Hope no more weird dreams for you. Sex dreams are much better. Work dreams are among the worst.
erika:
Oh man, I hope you feel better soon!

This is possibly the worst cold I've ever had. Or the worst flu. How do you tell the difference between those again?

I took three days off work, and if the weekend hadn't happened, I may have needed longer. Two separate fevers, and waking up drenched in sweat every morning. Sexy, I know. Now I have the ragged cough and sore stomach muscles. I can't...

I slept for about a day and a half completely over dressed (long underwear + flannel pj pants, a capeline base layer, t shirt, sweatshirt & ski cap). I think I sweated it out. Also, soup and a faitr amount of water, but I'm pretty sure I didn't eat until day 2 ...

I'm pretty sure God hates me. I've managed to catch another cold/flu bug, complete with the allover body aches and congestion, and I started my "womanly time" today! Yay! blackeyed
