So this past evening me and Subrosa hosted pubquiz at the bar on my block. See how you rank up:

NC-17 Rated Films

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

This category concerns films that some cut of which were rated NC-17. In many cases these films were released to theaters with an edited R rated version, then to DVD with an uncut unrated version, since unrated films...

I hate westerns. The cowboys and indians thing is played out and racist, the heros are sexist, and the plots are predictable. That said, the westerns that I've enjoyed are always exceptionally good and pull rank to other genres of film. Here are my favorite westerns:

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - alright, so some say this isn't a western. It's too likable and...

let me know what the spaghetti films are playing up there. i'd love to see them as one big wallop.
Searchers i've heard about numerous times.

christ. while we're talking about westerns i really want to see (because it's a genre i've mostly avoided)
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Shane, Magnificent Seven, Wildbunch,

yeah...that should do me for a while.

Hello fellows. Got done with a busy spat with life in the last month. Finished two certificates, finished an internship (now done with needle exchange and the AIDS hotline), finished training as a sex educator, started working the San Francisco Sex Information switchboard ((415) 989-SFSI Wednesdays from 3-6), looking for a new job, having a lot more time for everyone including myself. It's been fun....

Like everyone else, I'm writing here to proclaim the goodness of Man Man. The San Francisco show at The Independent was fantastic. Milk chocolate jackelopes abound, explosive percussive energy, and falsetto pseudo child-choirs make for a great experience. I'd see them again in a one ventricle heartbeat.

Upcoming shows include The Books, Arcade Fire, and Daft Punk. I'd like to go to the doseone and...

I know of no Daft Punk show. It didn't show up on my radar, but considering I haven't really cared much for them since they proclaimed themselves to be robots, that's not terribly surprising. I am, however, going to the Arcade Fire show tonight. smile

How long are you going to be in town for?
melladoree:
I miss you guys too! ^^^ kiss

Long time no speak, friend-os. Shit's been busy. Work is the usual. I started classes again, I'm taking Community Health Work v2 + Internship and Group Facilitation. I started my internship at SF AIDS Foundation, which currently entails working the California AIDS Hotline, which is jolly fun, but will eventually be working at needle exchange. I moved, and I love my new place. Unless you...

So I'm definitely still planning on coming to your shindig this Friday, and since I have neither 'fro nor squirrel to bring, I was wondering if you wanted me to contribute any appetizers, and what kind of alcohol I should bring... can't wait to see you!

Yesterday I wandered over to see Elvis Costello at the Bluegrass festival in Golden Gate Park. I'm not really into bluegrass, which was the majority of what he played, but he also played some funny/rockin covers of Loser by Cracker and Jackie Wilson Said by Dexie's Midnight Runners, plus (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace Love and Understanding.

This morning I woke up a 6 o'fuckinclock...

Someday I Will Treat You Good is probably my favorite Sparklehorse because it reminds me of what my first boyfriend said to me when I broke up with him. I only treated you bad because I knew you would never break up with me, to which I responded by laughing in his face while he cried.

eheh, i like that story!

bring any sort of finger food or fine beverage you desire. i think i got the non-alcoholic drinks covered (ginger beer, ginger ale, root beer, sparkling cider & this crazy grape juice that will make you second guess yourself thinking it's wine), so you probably don't need to bring one of those. smile
wallace:
no problem at all!
