Looking good so far. By the way, if all else fails, you can always 'cheat' when making a preloader. What you can do is set up your timeline so that all of the objects are hidden off-screen (thus forcing them to load), maybe a few objects per frame. With each passing frame, you can simply fill in the progress bar a bit more. Quite easy.

Now, it isn't the most professional way of doing things, but I know how much of a bitch preloaders can be. You're doing better than you think.

Do a simple tech illustration of something that personifies your personality, and use that as your logo. By the way, I like your tech illustration of the skater girl. Much better than I could ever do in Illustrator.

As for your portfolio, and assuming that you're using Flash, I'd create a rollover effect that changed the right-side box to some sort of animated movie clip of your project. Of course, since we're dealing with Flash, it'd be best to do a trace bitmap (or something of that nature) of your projects and do a pan and zoom effect in that box.

It's hard to explain. It's kinda like the Mac OS picture screensaver that does subtle panning and zooming. You don't necessarily need to randomize it, though. And making them into vector graphics will certainly help when viewing the portfolio on shitty older computers (since bitmaps make the Flash player choke), which a lot of businesses tend to use.

Oh, and I thought it was kinda cool that you integrated SG into your portfolio.

I was looking at your portfolio site, actually. I noticed that you go to the Art Institute. I used to go to PTI, but their job placement is terrible (despite their claims). By the way, I'm not sure what you designed your portfolio site in, but the text is really close together, making it hard to click on some of the links.

Or it could just be my browser. (I use Firefox.)
