I have happy things to write about for once.
Sadly, no pictures of me today. A self-obsessed photoblog is on it's way though.
The AC is so high that I'm in my favorite shorts and my favorite hoodie with a hot cup of coffee and I'm still shivering. I love it. The goosepimples, the shaking in my knees and ankles, and the deep, emotional comfort of being enveloped by a hoodie with the sleeves just long enough to reach the tip of my thumb. Every time I take the dogs out for their walk, I always notice another leaf has turned orange.
You know, for someone who hates the color orange..... the most beautiful time of year to me sure has a lot of it.
Another good thing about the cold is that Bryzly seems to cuddle more when its chilly. I'm really looking forward to that. I really need to look into sweaters and coats for her. Seeing as she's a Texas puppy, she isn't used to the cold OR snow. The most snow she's seen is a light dusting. I really hope she likes snow as much as me.
Yesterday I got to skype with someone I haven't talked to outside of emails for a long time. It was an experience. I actually had a smile on my face most of the time. But sometimes I did that stupid thing were I hide my smile. We talked about tv shows and movies and all of his coworkers and beer and Bryzly. Just so much random, meaningless topics. But I really liked it. Nothing serious, nothing too painful. Sometimes I wanted to cry. No matter what, I do miss him. So just seeing his face hurt a little. But talking for a couple hours on webcam really brought back some memories. I had a good time. I think the worst part was saying goodbye. It was.... it was strange. And quite awkward for the both of us. It left me with a small smile on my face for the rest of the day, even through a fever and migraine.
Even though autumn has been on my mind, the other night I found out that my all-time favorite holiday movie is on youtube. I'm pretty sure I had a minor heart attack when I found it. I haven't seen the movie since VHS was still the norm. My dad loved the movie and introduced me to it, and I've been in love ever since. It's the one thing that made me love easter in the first place.
So yeah, finding that was fucking awesome.
I'm tempted to slow cook some meat tomorrow. I bought a package of turkey breast cutlets, and they're good and all.... but cooking them isn't as close to cooking chicken as I thought. It leaves me tempted for a more moist meat but I can't seem to get it right with the cutlets. I'm excited to cook something slow. Some comfort food. I have to admit that eating nothing but fruits, veggies, and lean meat has made me feel SO MUCH BETTER. I've been so depressed lately, as well as sick and lethargic. I don't know if just being happy about just GETTING to eat better carried over in to everything else in my life, but I think my mind and body are just so thankful to be done with processed shit. When I can eat an average of 4 medium sized red potatoes a day and still weigh less than eating frozen chicken stir fry, you know something is wrong. I keep trying and trying to get my dad to invest in fresh food. The recipes are endless and he won't even listen. But I DID introduce him to the awesomeness of grilled zucchini and grilled red onion. So, there's a chance. lol.
Food makes me happy I guess. =] Just have to decide between beef or cornish game hens. I guess it will probably come down to price.
Actually, if I hurry and get to the store, I could make it today instead of tomorrow. Hmm.... I AM out of rosemary lol. We'll see how the next hour goes.
I'm still on a major Keane kick. There's a lot going on in my life and Keane will always have a song for it. I guess I just need something in my life that is standard across the board. There's something for everything and it's always amazing. Also, Keane is great enough that I don't need to explain being in a Keane-obsessive phase.
And just like I said before, Tom Chaplin is legit one of the hottest men on the planet. I miss his long, curly hair though. I've had such a crush on him since like.... 2004? Something like that. High school runs together for me so I can barely remember.
Until next time,
