Today I had myself a little movie marathon day. First, I watched Terror Vision. Which is about a mutated space pet, which was disposed of by means of turning it into pure energy and shooting it out to the vastness of space. Eventually it lands in a swinging family's satellite dish and then proceeds to eat everyone it can get its claw on. The lovely Diane Franklin is in it, who plays a new wave metal head. Classy stuff. You might remember Diane from such films as "The Last American Virgin" and "Better Off Dead". Y'know... She's the french girl. Anyways, Chad Allen is also in the movie who runs around telling everyone there's a monster in his house, whom no one believes. There's also a mock-Elvira character w/ bigger tits named Medusa. I'll leave it's description at that. Definately a cheesy 80's horror movie to see.
Then I moved onto another cheesy 80's horror flick, "Night of The Creeps." Directed by the same fellow who did "The Monster Squad". The plot is simple in this one. A renengade alien steals a large capsule of brain eating leeches and releases it into the vastness of space (kinda had a knack for seeing aliens throw their garbage into space). Guess what? It's ends up on earth in the 1950's and takes it's first victim. That victim eventually was ceased and cyrogenically frozen to avoid further human contamination. Fast forward to 1986. Two dorky nerds want to pledge a fraternity (yeah, it's one of those) in order to impress a girl.
The frat gives them the initiation to break into the university's medical lab, steal a corpse and leave it on a rival fraternity's doorstep. Eventually, what happens is the nerds stumble into that cryogenics lab and release the first (of many to come) brain eating leech. These leeches enter the body orally from orifice to orifice. Then they take over your brain, killing the body (while still being able to properly walk among the living), turning oneself into a walking incubator, then transfering from body to body. We find out fire is the only thing that kills them, so it's off to find a flame thrower and eventually all is well.
So, now at this point, I took a break. I'm about to watch Howard The Duck, but I don't know if I have it in me. I don't think i've officially been able to sit through that movie since I was 5 years old? I don't know. It was a long time ago. I think i've had a little too much cheese factor for one day. Then again, i'll probably end up watching it. It's either that or I switch gears entirely and end up watching Transformers: Headmasters (a Japanese sequel to the original Transformers - Just in case anyone was wondering). I made a promise to myself that i'd start watching it. Damn, long live bit torrents and swapmeet booth bootlegs.
