Woke up pushing aside cans and bottles. Fell out of bed and couldn't remember too well how I got there. Looking around, I realized that someone had brought Laura and I a 12 pack, on top of the two 6 packs we had in the fridge.
It was beer armageddon. An alcohol holocaust.
Was up with Laura until 5:30 just talking about shit like we always do. Watching The Clash documentary and then Zoolander (after The Pogues DVD turned out to be split down the center). Stacy dropped by for a bit.
Things with Stacy are getting... I don't know.
The other day we were laying in bed and she just said that she doesn't know what's going to happen with her life or where she's going to be or who she'll end up with.
I told her nothing is ever for certain, except that you die. And part of why life is beautiful is you think you know what's going on but then something unexpected happens.
"Like this," she said. "When we stated we said this thing between us was 'just nothing', now it's not."
It made me feel good.
Anyway, I had something to say about Laura before I got sidetracked by myself -- Laura is a really fucking good friend to me. I can't imagine getting along without her now... I'm not sure if it's a good thing or bad. We'll see.
It's just weird, one day we're just friends... almost acquaintances and then I call her up to ask if she wants to have a few drinks, cuz everyone else I was used to hanging with was out, and then, all the sudden, we're as thick as thieves and going strong for a couple years.
My best friend Tom is in Portland. He's visitng soon and I know things will be just like they were before he left. Us up all night, drinking and talking comics, politics, math, human consciousness, chaos magick and card games. Cuz we're cool like that.
My other best friend Levon is usually busy with work, or art, or his girl to do a whole lot. But I still see him often and lately he's had more time to hang, which has been awesome. Levon and I have always been tight.
And Laura... well, here's to my partner in crime. She always lays it out for me, whether I want to hear it or not. I know that she'd, without a doubt, she'd put her neck out for me. And that we'll always be friends.
I have a lot of good people in my life, not just the three I mentioned. I guess that's just where I've been going with this... that I have a lot to be happy about.

fancier:
Good for you... glad you're happy. Friends are the only reason I'm still alive.
