flew back from alicante this morning, got home at 4am. i have to say that was 48 very well spent hours of my life
saturday morning leave airport @ 6am. arrive alicante, jump joe la (as in Joe la Taxi!) arrive at hotel, on the beach. too early to check in, only 9am. hot already, shorts on towel down sit on the beach surrounded by spaniards, the british piss heads are all an hour away in benidorm

sit and snooze, have a swim in the med, watch the peaches go by, check in. lunch. beer. beer. beer. beach. more peaches. stay there till 7pm back to my room shower etc
go downstairs, fucking wedding party, everyone dressed to the nines, and oh the :: shooz ::

over to the marina for some food, here i am, hair now in a green fin down the middle mixing it up with the yacht and power boat crowd. eat some fantastic seafood, drink some fabulous local ros vino.
:: shooz :: gucci sandals and a pair of legs to die for - posh totty and too much wine. the view from my balcony looked right over the marina and hundreds of people milling around. *wink*
morning, the most amazing breakfast buffet i've ever had, blew dubai last summer away.
beach. beach. peaches. beach. smiling.
check out at 12, hang round the beach / marina / pool all day. little mishap with some lost sunnies, nearly some argie bargie for taxis. matadors fresh from the kill - spanish bull fights are a bloody affair. not my thing. taxi - complete with dancing elvis, airport, plane, in bed 4.10am
that was a good weekend.
this weekend? fly to san francsico for 12 hours, then onto sydney for 3 weeks in australia. total time 36 hours, 25 on a plane

i used to hate the return to work because it meant the end of a holiday, now i realise i just hate having to put on 'normal' clothes. i want a job where i need no shoes, i can smell the sea and feel the sand between my :: toes ::
where are you going on holiday?

...and as for the IKEA lampshade, well, you should see it...it would fit the tea room balcony athmosphere all too well. Very soft, organic forms, rice paper and all. And I *was* being materialistic, remember?
