on the train this morning, and as it pulled in to a station this is the genuine transcript of the station announcer:

this train will be stopping at the next station, and all the stations after that
could the people exiting platform 4 staircase please observe the following:

please do not run
please do not push each other
please, no argie bargie. it's not a race
ladies please watch your handbags - do not use them as weapons to force your way up the stairs
it's friday, let's not spoil it by pushing someone down the stairs
