the first night, we met up with friends with babies or having babies at the wonderfully kid-friendly luzzo's in the east village. the little ones are lovely, as is the expectant mother in the group.
indulge me briefly in her story: she's my friend from college, previously married to my once best friend. about 6 years ago, she wanted to have a baby. he freaked out, dissolved the marriage, and starting a dating someone 15 years younger. she recovered better than ever, realized that the bio-clock had a few ticks left, then went out an bought some nice blond baby butter. happy happy joy joy, for reals.
here's the kicker: the gov't is out-lawing the importation of manseed from europe. yet another reason to get the bushies out of office. no brains, no hearts.
the second night we went to the group show that featured
siege's decay prints. we didn't spend much time chatting with the man -- way too many fans answered his call to attend, including lex & leslie from NLP -- but we briefly said hello to him and his stable of supermodels (as mrs 7sins referred to them). here they are in all their glory...
afterwards our non-parenting friends all went out for more mayhem and booze. god, i forgot how much one can drink when one doesn't have to drive....
finally, the wedding!
awesomeness all night long. mrs 7sins is still editing the pix for publication, but here's one from the end of the night, when the tie had come off and the happy married were on their way to greece. i kinda have crazy eyes but that's the speedball combo of champagne and espresso.
so that was new york: good friends, old memories, a few fantastic meals, gallery hopping and retail shopping, and a horrible realization that alphabet city is now full of douchbaggery on any given weekend night. nyc is officially not home any longer. now i need to focus on making a new home in angel city.
