a great weekend, staring back on thursday when we saw fat pig by neil labute. as always, he's challenging, not at all pleasant, and 98% truthful. the staging was good; the cast very good. since we saw the extended run, ashlie atkinson who originated the role in nyc starred as helen ... just amazing work. she's on that denis leary show of FX and she's a Gotham Gal rollerderby-er.

saturday we went downtown for wack!, which was a survey of feminist art from 1960-1980. lots of great work, including a cross section of cindy sherman's untitled film stills.

and on monday, the the wau wau sisters played one night only at el cid... the new show is great, especially the "girls on film" routine. if you don't know them, here's a taste of what you're missing...
