anniversary yesterday... 9 years of wedded bliss give or take a few rocky months at year 5. celebrated at lucques, where i had the lamb and mrs 7sins had the chicken. so did hamish bowles who was holding court (yes, with all the regality the phrase implies) at the next table -- quite the floorshow. desserts weren't that great but it really didn't diminish the meal in any way.

I work at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica; it's good food and we've got a good crew, but it's getting to be time for me to move on. Hard part is leaving the corporate / union benefits that I've got, for an independent restaurant that will pay less and leave me with no insurance.

I've only been in LA for about 9 months or so, and because I work so much I haven't had a lot of time to do much restaurant exploring, so I don't really know all the great places in town.

I can give you a couple tips, though: I love Angelini Osteria, on Beverly, and Providence on Melrose. Those are both pretty pricey upscale places, but they do very very good food.

if you're in that area, you should swing by my regular bar, Saints & Sinners, right by cafe brasil on venice. cool place!

I don't follow the footy, but i will sort of follow the progress of it all, most likely.
