I don't know what you folks think about the media circus of coverage of, and the Republican Party's grand standing on, the issue of whether or not Terri Schiavo's feeding tube should be re-inserted, but... Oh, by the way, for those of you who do not know anything about whom and/or what I'm writing about, Terri Schiavo is the woman in Florida who has been clinically BRAIN DEAD and in a CONSTANT VEGETATIVE STATE for the past 15 years. Well, personally, I am deeply disturbed by the Republican Party's and the Bush Administration's decision to blatantly violate the US Constitution and interfere in a private family issue that does NOT fall under the jurisdiction of the Federal Government at all. It is a legal matter for the state of Florida's courts and lawyers to argue over. In my opinion when (NOT MY) President George W. Bush flew back to the White House to sign an emergencey bill, drawn up by the Republican Party members in Congress, into law on this past Sunday, March 20th he made a gross error in judgement and is guilty of overstepping his authority, violating the rules and laws spelled out in the US Constitution that pertain to the powers that the President ACTUALLY has (as opposed to the powers he/she thinks they have), and has made a disgusting display of his continued abuse of power. mad HE SHOULD BE IMPEACHED!!! mad
saucissedanseuse:
It'd be funny if he got impeached for this and not for, erm, lying to the world about WMD. lol. but after all clinton got almost done for a stain on his jacket! and al capone ended up in jail for not paying taxes!
so,uhm... fingers crossed? smile

and hey, give the guy a break, he was on holiday in texas, just like he loves doing all the time, so maybe he didn't have the time to get the documents read about this whole issue, someone told him "hey walker, please sign the dotted line here" and he ust did that.

As for poor terry... i hope her sufferings end soon. and i just hope that she is so unconscious that she cannot feel the starvation that her body is going through. The matter of fact here is that they are basically letting her starve to death! Usually when we hear the term "pull the plug" is, like, not giving oxygen anymore and it's over in 10 minutes, not pulling the FEEDING plug and then letting a person die of starvation. It's a bit sick, thinking of it. I wish her, and her family, all the best - and only they know what's best.

ciao!
