R.I.P. "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott; 1966-2004. Keep on rockin' in Heaven!
I want to pass on my condolences to "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott's family, Damageplan bandmates, former Pantera bandmates, friends, and to the families and friends of the other victims of the senseless, brutal, selfish, and evil actions of one man; Nathan Gale. I also want to pass on my condolences to Mr. Gale's family and friends because this not their fault and this is a very sad, frustrating, confusing, and embarrassing time for them. This REALLY sucks!!!
I actually had a chance to go see/hear Damageplan perform LIVE at the 9:30 Club in nearby Washington, DC a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't go to the show because I didn't feel like going out that night. I figured that they would come back through town in the near future on another tour. I will regret that decision for the rest of my life.
This recent tragedy has inspired me to try to learn to play guitar again. I took lessons once when I was a 13 years old and that was a miserable experience, but I won't bore you with tales of my teenage traumas. Rest assured that there are no delusions of rockstardom running through my head. At 29 years old, I'm too old and starting way too late for that. Besides, neither I nor anybody else could ever replace "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. He was unique. I have always loved Hard Rock and Heavy Metal music and now I would really like to learn how to play the music that l love so much for fun.
