ART THIEVES SUCK. A Warhol screen print and a Pollock painting were stolen from a museum in PA. In tribute to Jackson Pollock:
As spoken by "The Wolf":
Just because you ARE a character doesn't mean you HAVE character.
*%@$#*&*(!)#($&$@&@(@_!
So, like, I'm working on my book and stuff...
Writing a novel is WORK. Don't let anybody tell you any differently. I mean, if it isn't going to SUCK and all. You know, you have to have a cool idea and plug into it an actual story line and a few subplots so the reader doesn't get bored off their ass and use the book as toilet paper, develop real characters, develop plot twists, and conduct the whole thing so it manages to flow along in some sort of synergistic harmony instead of disjoined, boring, pointless SHIT. Music is so much easier. (I'm sure I will now get flamed by the musicians/composers who read this, if any...)
I like the actual writing part. When I get to actually put down language on paper (well, computer screen anyway...) it flows out of me and feels oh so good. The thing is that I've only done short stories and poems before. Never a NOVEL. I guess preparing for the marathon and actually running it was foreshadowing this experience. Wow, I should have "character" running out of my ears by the time this is finished.
The whole plotting and planning thing is a bummer, but I am afraid it is a necessary evil until I get so damned good at this thing that I don't need the training wheels any more. That is certainly a LONG way off. Wow, this exercise is really making me feel amateurish and silly, but I am definitely buliding the skill.
Oh, yeah, and THANKS to Mercie and Cattra for dropping by after I rematerialized into SG from the depths of oblivion. It is nice to be back. Maybe I'll actually stick around this time...
