So my friend brought to my attention that Disney has always brought to light the issue of a dysfunctional family life. I had never thought about it but when you look back its kind of odd considering that the company has been around since 1923 and only two movies have ever featured two parents present without one of them dying or leaving. It's kind of weird to me, I mean it's cool that they would put something like that out there to address an issue, being that they were kids movies especially way back then its kind of odd.
kers:
From Disney Classic movies only Lilo and Stich was an original Disney creation (and the kid doesn't have parents at all) , all the rest were merely adaptions of traditional children stories, Shakespeare, etc. Which is much longer than disney, so your questioning about Disney should be expanded a bit
