People always give Dead Space crap for not being scary, but Dead Space 1 and 2 are on par with any horror game I've ever played (other than SilentHill 2/3) as far as combat, story, and the "survival" part of survival horror. And apparently Dead Space 3 is even better, which would logically make it one of the best horror games of all time. I loved Dead Space 1&2, and the second is on par with Resident Evil 4, which I consider the second-best horror game of all time behind Silent Hill 2.
So if Resident Evil can get a free pass for making its games not at all horror, why doesn't Dead Space get credit for its superior controls, storytelling, scariness, UI design, and replayability?

I agree with you. I do have to say, in the 3rd game i am not a fan of killing people, I like killing necromorphs. I still haven't finished the game, but so far I love it, been trying to go slowly at it to enjoy for a longer time.
