Ugh. Not enough time to catch up!!

A few things:

I had front row center tickets to the Pixies show tonight. I've never been that close to a band, even at a smaller venue. Wow. I shook Joey Santiago's hand and i touched Kim Deal. My guest was a lucky girl.

Yes, i got the motorcycle. Not it is not currently running. Argh!!

If all...

I've decided the picture of your refrigerator scares me. Not only is it a cluttered mess but the wine in there is non-alchoholic. We're going to have to talk about this.

So you've got what like three days before your trip? I bet you are preparing many things and making last minute arrangements etc...etc...

I started one of the new jobs today. So far so good. I fear I may catch you on-line less now as I'm working bunches and bunches.

I have nothing terribly interesting or profound to say today...just checking in. Have a fabulous trip if I don't speak with you before you go.

Ugh. Fucking worm on my system is what's been preventing me from getting online for the last week or so. Fuck you Windows!! Yeah, i though my virus software had that taken care of.

Anywho, i'm tired. A few things:

My experience with Earthlink this week has not made me more of a fan of outsourcing customer service overseas (Bombay, India in this case). Earthlink...

Whew. Feels like a lot's been going on. Well, a lot and a little.

Monday night i was hangin in East Atlanta so i dropped by a friend's place on my way home. We ended up staying up late watching (and listening) as Frances rolled in. Somewhere in there we broke out a bottle of champagne. Awesome, although i didn't realize what those winds were...

Hey! Bijoux called me her friend! woo hoo!

OK, lemme see if I can give some help about Iceland -

1) Rekyavik is a small town, in people & size...75% of the country lives there and its like going to Athens GA, probably...small but big is what I mean. Everything is walkable, and lots of buses (I didnt take, but i saw lots, there are central bus stations in the heart of downtown, and the rides are cheap, about $4 each).

2) Note, being 15 mins from town is probably fine, I splurged & spent more than youre looking to do, so dont count on my hotel (Nordica) being the guage..I prefer hostels & such, but this made my flight cheaper, blah blah....

3) Bijoux had a great idea - buy good booze @ the duty free on your way there (theres some in the airport when you arrive, too, but not as cheap as the US) - a) booze is really pricey so drink to go out & make it cheaper later (this is the local custom, so dont feel like a loser about it), and b) cuz theres not too much else to do at night but drink yourself silly.

4) I agree with her, too - you MUST eat the hotdogs (esp. with the crunchy fried onions!), and try them all over town..its the cheapest food youll find, EVERY one eats them all the time, and they are a special taste, a national treature. Also, try everything - they have great local fish, lamb, and beef. I will admit, the dried fish strips as a snack are ok, but the dried and fried kind are the best, they rule. Dont bother with shark -- not cuz you shouldnt have the experience, but every single local has told me all it will do is make me sick, and why would I need that on a vaca? Good point, those smarty Icelanders.

5) I always learn to say thank you on the first day, it will get you better service smile "takk fyrir"

6) Good that you have musicfest

7) I think by october the day & night are normal, like us - 8pm dark till 6am....2 weeks ago it was dark @ 10pm, light @ 5am...

ASk anything else ya like.
