It was an interesting day today. Doing a show about Martin Luther King, Jr was made a little more heartfelt by the passing of his widow, Coretta Scott-King, who died last night in her sleep. The kids were very aware, too, and asked some great questions after the show regarding not only MLK but her role in the Civil Rights Movement as well. It never ceases to amaze me how even the youngest kids are filled with questions and the desire to know more than what they have been told. It was an emotional show for all of us, but no more so than for my friend and coworker Sadrina, who plays Coretta in the show. It was an inspired performance on her part. It was hard not to imagine that a little bit of Coretta was still alive today on a tiny stage in a run down old school in rural Virginia. I hope we can continue to bring this message to as many kids as we possibly can. It is an important story, and one which is glossed over to an extent by the incomplete education that we receive in this country. I am so very proud of the fact that we will be bringing this story to several thousand lives.... I hope we can change a few of them.

I just realized you are an actor. What kind of acting do you do? I specialize in Shakespeare and (don't hate me) musical theater myself.
Hope all is well with you!
