The Canadian government is so incompentent and utterly useless, I'm about to break down and cry.
Their latest brainchild is this "Permanent Resident Identification Card" scheme. Basically it's a seperate identification card for residents of Canada that are not citizens. Up until now, you just had these seperate papers that were stapled into your passport.
All nice and good, but why the fuck can't they just issue me a card based on the information that they already have? Because they're so fucking incompetent that they don't have any information.
You'd think instead of them sending me a fucking information form, they could just send me the card. But nooooo, I need to fill out this huge frikken document, have it notarized, have fucking pictures taken. ARGH
So like, in this one area they want me to fill out when and for how long I've left the country in the past five years. WHAT THE FUCK IS CUSTOMS FOR? That's right, customs actually doesn't keep track of anything. Most of the time, they don't stamp your passport either. So I have no idea when the fuck I came back. And in europe I don't get the passport stamped either, because it's an EU passport, so they pretty much just wave your through.
So like what the hell. They make you fill out these ridiculous cards where you detail all the information when you come back into the country via airplane. My theory has always been that they just throw them into the garbage after you're done. Looks like that's exactly what they do. Otherwise they'd have all this information on record.
