Well, another day another report. I swear I've never written so many reports in my life. What I want to know is how the TAs get enough time to do mark this stuff. I hear that some courses have 10 markers and that's where all our money goes.
Back when I used to mark and TA a lot of my time was taken up in marking assignments. I also go the strangest assortment of offers. I got a lot of candy which I accepted and awarded a bonus mark or two (read: leniency). I had money stapled which was removed and then personally returned to the student so they couldn't say we took it and blah blah blah. I was also offered carnal pleasures that dare not speak its name and unfortunately (in some cases) they had to be refused
I know (for a fact) that in other faculties they don't turn those offers down.
I don't take many courses from other areas. My friends are always telling me to "screw this shit, take other courses." Yes...I know...I know...enjoy life blah blah blah, but it's that advice i no longer required.
In the spirit of things:
If a person jumps headfirst from a 3rd floor balcony that is 14 meters from the ground, at what speed will they hit the ground (putting friction aside as it is inconsequential in this environment)? (48.02 m/s)
Energy at point of impact? (67.45 kJ)
Since skulls break at 8 kJ what is the likely hood of the person escaping without any brain injury if he is 6 feet tall (182.88 centimeters) and landing on a hard concrete floor with 0 cushion? (0%)
Come on folks...thiiiiiiiiink...this is interesting stuff...how would the body react? Most importantly, how would you fix it?
Changing my icon animation soon...can you guess to what?

i kind of miss grading. last class i TA'd for was calc 3 (3D calc). the prof who was teaching was my advisor and in the last two years has been very sick with cancer. i didn't get to see him while i was in california last week. i'm afraid i won't see him again because the next time i'll be in california will be at least a year from now. enough sad thought, happy though, i get fireworks on my bday....
