Today I had a walk-about.
Went to haight, did alot of window shopping.
I have no money so I wasn't tempted to by anything.
Also Felt kinda old because of the teenage girls prancing around the place with the adorable costumes their folks bought for them.
When I was a kid I didn't think about clothes or attracting the opposite gender just nintendo, drawing and acting like a maniac.
Now all I really want to do is get my art work out there, maybe not even get paid just have it penetrate society, because there are alot of talentless fartists out there with no meaning behind what they do besides being cool. I do not believe in cool. I do believe in skill, and design and craftmenship. I wish I knew who placed the stereotype on the DIY culture in SF that people should buy slop and be conservative. I like alot of the slapped together stuff, shit some of it is genius, but alot of it is repetative and condisending, such as mission art.
I am not a perfect artist but I m a challenging one, and not in a classical sense, instead embracing pop and cartoons to relate forms of beauty through simplicity.
I don't know maybe I need some whiskey.
Do some thing good for yourself and buy some art and study it for at least ten minutes then write the first thing that comes to mind after looking at the art work.
Have a good evening everyone.
