Today me and a couple friends went to the MADcap theater for the "Can't Stop the Space Pirates" charity event put on by the Arizona Browncoats and Arizona Corsairs.

Of course, because of the nature of the event, there were quite a few people dressed as pirates. There was pirate swag, free snacks, live music from a rock band who's vocalist was too quiet and from a sexy woman playing an *acoustic* bass. I think. It may also have been a viola.

This event gave me the rather unique opportunity to see "Ice Pirates", Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog (yes, we sang along), and Serenity all on the big screen! It was totally wicked. I loved it.






Before we left, we stuck around to see the winners of the raffle they were holding. Nerdy prizes abound were being given. Things like Serenity Christmas ornaments, a signed topless picture of Nathan Fillion (drool) and some authentic printed alliance currency actually used in the movie Serenity.

I put tickets in for a signed Adam Baldwin (Jayne) photo and a catering event for up to 10 people. Guess what I won...

I'll give you a hint... there will be some barbecue involved.
